Another new member to the group

Hi! So glad I found you all. I'm in a small group (5 members) and they are all a good 10 to 20 years younger than I am. My progress is a bit slower than theirs to say the least. No jogging for me.

I am 51 and a half, six feet tall and need to lose 40 pounds.
My first goal is to get to a healthy BMI.

My periods are 24 days apart so nothing has "paused" just yet. Doc says I will probably be one of those who don't reach the technical definition of menopause until I'm 52/53.

Nothing makes me feel better than exercise, so I joined a gym a couple of weeks ago and hope to avoid my usual seasonal depression.

I am not feeling particularly bad right now. I do have a little trouble calming down after my fire gets stoked, but otherwise I'm pretty good.

I've been on MFP for a couple of weeks now and I haven't had much success with weight loss, but I am getting fitter and stronger little by little and feel good that I am in the right place for support and information.

My weaknesses are a fondness for night-time snacking, wine and chocolate. Oh --- I must be so different from everyone, not!
