Sweets are my weakness. I know that, I accept that. I use most of my indulgences for sweets. I've found some great coconut flour recipes when I want cookies but sometimes I am just going to have candy.
One of my inspirational people in going primal had said one of her tricks when she had a sweet tooth (besides very dark organic chocolate) was to eat a spoonful of coconut butter (or coconut manna). I finally found some locally and oh my. It hits just the right spot. A teaspoon or two of that slowly enjoyed and much of my craving is satisfied. It's just pure, creamed coconut with nothing extra added.
Just thought I'd share in case sweets are your weakness, too. I wish I'd gotten some of this sooner!
Last night I melted two squares of dark chocolate, a spoon of coconut butter, a spoon of fruit juice sweetened dried cranberries and maybe 1/4 cup of pecans and walnuts. Mixed it all up, let it chill and yum. Very satisfying sweets, better for me than eating commercial candy.
