My name is Amanda (or Mandy), I'm 22 years old, and I started this group a few weeks ago, expecting it to be a small thing. Now we're over 300 members and I'm completely blown away.
Right now, I'm about 30-40 pounds away from my goal weight. My big one is 130lbs, but, once I'm there and feel I can lose more weight, or add some muscle, I'll determine whether or not to aim for 120lbs instead.
I'm engaged to a great guy, we have 3 kids together, and I'm losing weight to be in better shape and healthier for my family. I have one daughter who doesn't eat anything, and another one who eats everything and doesn't stop eating until we tell her "no more" I want to show teach them healthy, good eating habits, but I also don't want them to feel bad about themselves for digging into a cake every once in a while :laugh:0 -
Hi Amanda! My name is also Amanda. No Mandy here though, thanks. LOL.
I am 30 (for a few more days anyway, blah.). I live in Tulsa, OK with my husband of 11 years, Brent, and have two kiddos, a 10 year old daughter, Zella, and a 1 year old son, Sebastian.
I've been overweight since I was around 5 years old, so yeah, my whole life. lol. This would be, oh I don't know, my gazillionth time trying to drop it. However, its the 2nd time I've really been all-in serious about it. January 2003 was the first time I had the 'this is it' moment. I weighed in at 346 and hopped on the Atkins wagon. I lost 157 lbs altogether then and was a mere 20lbs from my goal weight when I found out I was pregnant. Long story short, my body took several weeks to register that the pregnancy had ended and sent my hormones plum damned nutty. In the 3 months it took to miscarry, I gained back all 157lbs plus an additional 15 putting me at 361.
I just started on the journey again at 340 and have lost 3.5lbs in a week's time. I'm 30 and feel like I'm 75...I have absolutely no interest in getting diabetes, and want to be able to keep up with my baby boy and run after the boys that take interest in my daughter. So, here I am! Its long overdue and I'm too damned stubborn not to make it happen this time. Done it once so I can definitely do it again!0 -
