How long are the various stages that you go through?
Thanks!

The stages vary, Stage 1 is 16 workouts (8 x Workeout A and 8 x Workout B) - so 5 - 8 weeks depending if you do 2 or 3 a week. The whole book will take you through a full 6 months of workouts.

After the first stage they take about 2.5 - 3 weeks depending on how often you are lifting. That's if you're lifting three days, if you only do 2 it's going to take longer.

Hello i just ordered this book im interested... I was wondering if there are anyone out there who have actualy started losing fat on the program. I just started looking into the weight lifting to try and lose fat and get muscle. i lost 70 pounds in my20 and kept it off til here recently i did a lot of cardio then. I tried the same approach this time but not seeing the pants get smaller or the scale move at all. I need a different approach, i think im not the same as 20 Im thinking okay i have lost some muscle mass so one way to fix it is to lift.

So any success stories would be so helpful for me!!

Possibly because it's hard to measure if you've actually lost fat. Now that I've been doing this program for a while I wish I had done things a little differently from the outset, and after the next rest week I plan to shake things up a but (I'll finish up stage 4 this week).

I don't think this is the program to use if you want to lose weight. Lose fat, yes, but not necessarily losing weight. I'm about 20 pounds away from my goal weight and I had hoped that weight training would help me get there. I think it could have if I had been eating at a greater deficit, but I don't think I could have done the workouts at a large deficit. I've maintained my weight throughout while eating between 2000-2200 calories per day. You asked about success stories, and while I don't think this is what you were looking for, this is what I'm proud of:

Deadlifts: from 65 lbs to 115
Barbell Squat Push Presses: 60 lbs
    Step ups: 70 lbs
Lat pulldowns: from 65lbs to 125 lbs

Those are just a few, but they prove I have made signifcant strength gains in the last 3.5 months. Measurements have changed only slightly, but I can see a more muscular shape emerging, mostly in places I don't measure, like my upper chest and shoulders. My behind is actually bigger, but it's a good thing because I had little in the way of "substance" in the back. My jeans fit way better now and it was only 1 inch increase in my hips.

Most importantly, people comment all the time, and my clothes fit better. I haven't lost any weight, and only made small changes in size, but today I bought pants a size smaller that did not fit 3 months ago. In January when I start stage 5 I'm going to try to eat at a larger deficit and see if that impacts the number on the scale without compromising my progress.
