Given the recent VT tech shooting, this is a hotbed, with many people arguing both sides. Let's try to make this a thread for the debate. I'm going to ask everyone keeps it high-road, and remember, attack the ARGUMENT, not the PERSON. Facts and stats, not feelings are what are important for BOTH sides.
I personally contend that in THIS SPECIFIC case guns on campus would have been useless, the officer was armed, but surprise was on the criminals side, and in the case of the other person found dead in the parking lot, I have a feeling the criminal was running through the lot, saw the victim, and shot them before they would have had a chance to react. However, I am overall FOR guns on campus in the hands of those legally licensed or permitted to carry them off campus.
DEBATE QUESTION: Should guns be allowed on Campus? Why or why not? Once again, facts and stats, not feelings for your argument. Feelings don't make anyone safer.
