How many grams do you eat a day of carbs/protein/fat?

I have my settings at 25% for carbs, 40% for fat and 35% for protein. For my 1300 diet, that means 81 grams of carbs, 114 grams of protein and 58 grams for fat.

What does everyone else do? Should I make my carb intake lower?

Mine is at 5% Carbs, 50% Protein, 45% fat, but that is just what works for me! And I never actually reach my protein goals, but mostly I just focus on staying under the carbs-- that keeps me at about 20g per day. You should see what works for you and adjust accordingly, I've seen plenty of people do well setting their carb intake even higher. Good luck to you!

Atkins says to start at 20g carbs.

    10% carbs/40% protein/50% fat

Roughly translates to about 30-40g of carbs (minus fiber). I never have trouble hitting the carbs or the fat...it's the protein I sometimes go over.

I honestly don't know how to set the percentages. nor would I know what they should be set to. i know I eat half again as much protein as MFP says, and maybe half the carbs.

I have mine set to 30%carb, 30% fat, and 40%protein. I just do gross carbs (not net). I'm usually under on carbs and fat and over on protein. Maybe need to tweek again!

Just in case you ever want to adjust your macros, go to:

    My Home/Goals/Change Goals

    Select Custom and click Continue

MFP sets your carbs/fat/protein amounts based on the percentage to your daily calorie goal. I change my calorie goal daily to match what I actually ate (I pre-log all my food in the morning so I can tweak it just right), and then check to see that all my macros fell within the percentages I set. It's sometimes trial and error to find the best percentage ratio for your body.

Yeah, my Dr says to track gross carbs, not net, but MAN i do like me an avocado (9g cho) and it's balanced out by its fiber. SO.... I kind of cheat, but I aim for 20, or 40 net.

On cheat days i don't really worry, but try to be in the 100 neighborhood. And 1x a week I have a cheat day.
