What you might expect excess skin wise

Here are the pics that the doctor took right as I was going for my tummy tuck and breast augmentation. They are not pretty, but I thought you should be aware. I felt like a melted candle at the time. They had to perform an anchor cut (both vertical and horizontal) and build me a new belly button. They also were not able to get all of the ribcage skin and said that would have to be a separate surgery. That wasn't an option for me, so I have made do with what I have. The scars have healed wonderfully though, and I really don't even realize they are there anymore.

Wow! Trying to get my head around that.... Yes, I figured the 'melted candle' effect was a given, but your pictures really brings that into focus. Your 'now' picture, despite all the surgical creases, is sooooo much better than before. You must be ecstatic! If I may ask, did insurance pay for it, or did you?:flowerforyou:

Yes, when I look at that pic I see an obese person in my head still, but I was only 145 pounds at that time. My confidence has quadrupled since having the plastics done. It's been 5 years and I don't regret it for a second. I still wish I could have more done. But, sadly, no insurance did not pay for it. At best they would have paid for a panni...not tummy tuck, but that only removes the flap that overhangs. With my anchor cut I was pulled from every which way and the dr tightened the muscle connective tissues, so I have really great abs now.
