Looking for non- nut ideas to bring with me on the road and to family's house to eat when I am there. Son has a sever nut allergy so I don't like to eat them around him.
Last few times I brought cooked chicken breast and raw veggies. But I am burned out and looking for new ideas. I am even thinking of making a pot of stew or something easy just to eat.
What do you bring on road trips to eat in the car? I am sick of all my usuals.

Nice tough beef jerky. I can tear off a hunk of that stuff, stick it in my cheek like a tobacco chaw, and sucking/chewing on one little piece can keep me occupied for half an hour.
I also usually bring a blender bottle and some plastic baggies with protein powder. They're great for road trips, but also, whenever I go anywhere (friend's house, potluck or something). I never know whether the food they'll have will be low-carb and high-protein enough for me. But I can always just discreetly go to the bathroom, dig that protein powder out of my purse, mix it up & down it quickly with no one the wiser.
Pork rinds are a good snack if you like them. I'm not fond of regular ones but I like the hot-n-spicy.
Have you tried bringing a jar of really thick dip with your raw veggies? That might make them more appealing. Pack it in a jar or container that will fit in your drink holder. And if you make it yourself you can make it really thick (for example, I mix mine using cream cheese instead of sour cream) so that it won't spill easily or be too messy in the car. Don't know whether you do dairy or not, but same principle would apply with an avocado dip, just thicken it.
These take a bit more prep beforehand, but you could always dice up some dill pickles, wrap each little piece in a bit of lunchmeat & secure with a toothpick. Bring a bunch of those little tidbits in a tupperware container.
Hope these help. Good luck!0
