Week 1, Workout 1 - Successful!

Options
Well, today I begin my C25K training on the treadmill. While I can literally walk for miles, running does not come so easy, especially at age 57. I did my walk times a 3.5 mph and my run times at 6.5 mph. It wasn't as difficult as I thought it might be. Thanks to the people in this group who offered advice on how to get started. Without a doubt, the hardest part of any journey is taking the first step.

Great job! WOW on the 6.5mph. I can't breathe or talk at 5.5 mph. :blushing:

Did you end up using an app or following a written program?

I just finished w2d1 (week 2 day1) last night. I'm trying to figure out a breathing pattern I am comfortable with. My lungs are not too beuno simply from lack of pushing them. This is my 4th time probably to attempt the c25k. I usually lose out on week 3...But I keep trying.

    Good running!!

5.5 mph is better than sitting on the couch.

I use the app C25K Lite witch is free.

Tomorrow is my walking day and Wednesday on to Workout 2.

Some people can't even manage the 5.5 mph! As long as you are going faster than a walk, don't sweat it! The speed will come later. Just focus on *completing* the program first!
