I cannot do push ups. I even struggle with the modified ones as I don't think I am holding my body in the right line. Any tips?

i'm afraid i'm in the same boat, I have very little strength in my arms and am hoping that this will improve throughout the Shred. We will get there!0

I can do them but I'm constantly readjusting worrying my hands are too far forward or too far back (close to under my shoulders.) I'm not sure the right angle and can't tell from the video. They do get easier. I could barely get 5 in the first day, but last night, I did about 15 in the time allotted.0

I couldn't do any the fist time I tried 30 Day Shred. This time can do about 30 in the first circuit. Google 100 push up challenge and try adding that to your daily routine you will get much stronger and better. Level 2 has lots of plank exercises so you should work on your push ups now.0

Oh no! I am dreading that then because I am terrible and cant handle the push ups YET!0 -
I can't do the full push ups. I do the "girl" push ups well. I'm hoping to challenge myself soon with the full push up. I think as long as you make sure your bum is down and you are in a straight line .0

I can't do em either, and I think I'm probably "cheating" at even the girly ones. As long as I feel a little burn, I figure it's making me stronger.0

Little by little, I'm doing better on the modified. I hope that by the end of the 30 days I can do real ones. I'm not going to expect much more!!0

I used to be able to do full pushups, but I'm stuck with "girl" pushups at the moment. And they're *hard*. I think they'll get easier with practice though, just like everything else - don't give up!0

see I can do planks til the cows come home (slight exaggeration) but can't do push ups. I do have back and wrist problems though so I don't know if it's just putting undue stress on them as they start to click and hurt after 2 :-\0

I can not do either the girly pushups or the real ones. But at the same time: I never could. Even as a teenager when I was in good shaped and had abs and everything. Mostly this is due to my carpal tunnel. I try to make myself do the girly ones as well, and when I get good at those I will try and push myself to do the real ones. But I sincerely doubt I'll be able to do either within 30 days, even if I try to do the 100 push up challenge. Like I said, my right wrist objects to it. I figure doing SOMETHING is better than doing nothing. So I'm not too worried about it.0

If you cant do the push-ups at all, even the girly ones then I suggest doing it like the girly ones, but instead of your hands on the floor put them again a chair, table or even the couch!!0

I just started the routine last night and I did as many as I could and my arms & part of my chest muscles are very sore today. I'm going to do the challenge every other day to start because I haven't been to a gym in a year and usually NEVER worked my arms when I went. Hopefully I can do more push-ups as the days go on.0

Me too! I hope one day push ups will be easy for me. ;D0
