Ok former drop-outs, how are you doing this week?
Have you dropped out again already?
Ok - I"ll start: I'm getting the exercise in, not doing so great w/ the food logging.
Today my one goal is log my food accurately.
OK - (echo, echo, echo) - what about you all?

Hi all!
I'm doing surprisingly well. I've logged my food and exercise all week, I HAVE exercised every day this week, and I've even gotten 3 strength training sessions in. On previous attempts, I've managed the food logging and up to 5 days of walking, but I've never gotten all 3 strength sessions in -- usually none at all!
The weekend is here, though -- having DH home all weekend sometimes makes it difficult to stick with it. Monday is weigh-in day, though, so I will give it my best shot!
Glad to see you all are hanging in there! One step at a time . . .0 -
@dlee1234 - sounds like things are going well overall. gosh do i know the feeling of going over due to that alcoholic beverage! :ohwell: (just commiserating, not judging!) i hope you get over the chest cold soon!
@yellowrose5321 - great job! i often ('accidentally') neglect the strength training, so it sounds like a great start to 2012!
keep up the great work over the wkend everyone!0 -

Sometimes I still need a swift kick for sure!! during nap time today I got my 30 minutes in on the elliptical...YAY!!!0 -
I've done well this week- I don't know how well because of my whole scale issue- but I have exercised every day and today I did back-to-back Zumba and Cardio Kickbox for two hours and it really whipped my tail. I love doing the logging (I think it's a control thing) so that hasn't been a problem! I need to get more vegetables in, I think. Drinking enough water is difficult for me during the work day- I am a Principal at an Elementary School and just don't carry a water bottle from class to class. Any suggestions on that?0

thanks for checking in during your busy wkend!!
@ mommahix - great job! i can't imagine that they all sleep for the exact same 30 minutes very often, so that's for sure good timing! (what i mean is there is a 33% chance one of them wakes up and wakes the others? )
@allysonvb - i would pass out if i tried to do zumba back-to-back with cardio kickbox - superb!! i don't have a suggestion besides carrying a water bottle - is it that you move around during the day so much that it is cumbersome? (i usually carry one b/c i'm to cheap to pay for water  )
about veggies: i tend to get some 'extras' in by having them sitting around the house in such a convenient format that makes them easy to grab if i am starving (i will grab chips if they are in the house, so i rarely keep them 'stocked') or to pack if i need to go somewhere. i know they are just big carrots that are shaved down, and they over-charge for them, but i tend to keep baby carrots and hummus in the fridge at all times. i also like those little tomatoes.
for portable fruits,i like bananas, apples, pears, clementines. i :smooched: clementines!0 -
First weekly weigh-in this morning : 6.4 lbs gone! Whoo-hoo!!
Too bad it won't be like that every week, but I can live with anything -- as long as the numbers keep moving down.
Logged my food every day last week and got exercise in 6 days -- I have 1 rest day.
I'm taking a couple of classes at the community college that start next week, so I need to get the logging and exercise routine firmly established so I don't let it slide when I add the new activity in.
How are you all doing? It's gotten kinda quite around here -- hope no "former" drop-outs have become "current" drop-outs0 -
hello all
not a bad weekend on track food wise, 45 mins of zumba wii sat and sun...no formal exercise today but i did do an hour or so on and off of dancing to disney tunes with my 3 year old whilst carrying her on my back so i hope that counts a lil bit ??? .......:bigsmile:0 -
Nice job, Yellowrose - down 6.4 already! Woo hoo!
Well done, dlee1234 - everything counts - even spontaneous disney dance sessions!0 -
OK - whattup Former Dropouts??? (Taps microphone)
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly:
good: ran 10 miles this week so far - a good distance for me.
bad: ate 50000000+ calories of lasagna yesterday
fugly: toenail hurts - it's gonna be a dead toenail. :explode:

Feel like I had about that many calories today!
Not as bad as all that, but I did go over 2000, and was over on my fats and protein (we had breakfast for dinner this evening and I didn't stop with one piece of sausage
Also haven't gotten any exercise for the 2nd day in a row. Gonna try to get back on the treadmill in a minute. Gotta put a stop to this right now, and get back on track!!
Good job with the running!! Keep it up!0 -
we had breakfast for dinner this evening
ooo i love Breakfast for Dinner...what a great idea!
hope you are enjoying your holiday wkend!
I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.

My DH works nights and doesn't usually get up until 2 or 3 in the afternoon. So he misses out on breakfast everyday.
About once a week, I'll fix breakfast for dinner. I love it too!0 -
well another 2lb off have learnt by trail and error to save 250 cals for evening snacks as thats when i like to eat and chill with a glass of wine (small !!!) seems to work and have been out with my toddler pushing her up hills on her push bike (the one with a long handle on th e back she cant peddle yet shes 2) if i cant do any formal exercise. so doing ok !:happy:0

yum - breakfast for dinner and wine snacks - all faves of mine as well.
temperature has dropped - i can still jog outside but it's hard to want to wake up and do that first thing in the morning when it's still dark.
great job on the 2#, dlee1234!0 -
Hey (former) Dropouts! So far, so good this week- tonight I did two my hours of cardio- one of kickboxing and one of zumba. I love both, but it's tough doing them back to back! Feel the burn! As far as loss, last week I was down 7. I don't like weighing myself, but if I get by a scale tomorrow, we'll see how it goes (Thursday was my weigh in day last week). My struggle right now is still waters... I have gotten the 8 glasses in, but on days like today when I sweat like crazy, I'm not replenishing! I also need more ideas for healthy, low cal snacks that will sustain me for a while. Keep up the great work!!!
Take care- and only two days until the weekend :0)0 -

^ Well done! I still can't over the fact that you can do kickboxing and zumba back-to-back! Definitely a sign of fitness...hat's off to you!
I guess I do a lot of the 'typical snacks'. Not sure how helpful my list is, but I usually try to get in a pc of produce in the snack:
- baby carrots + hummus
- apple + peanut butter
- string cheese + a piece of fruit (clementine, etc.! portable!)
- nuts + a piece of fruit. i tend to 'overdo it' w/ the nuts, so i usually eat them w/ something else!
- yogurt + fruit
Keep up the great work!0 -
My suggestions would be similar to Sloth_Jog's. I always try to have some protein in my snacks -- for me that's the key to having them sustain me til the next meal. I find if I only have a piece of fruit or veggies, I'm hungry again an hour later.
So some fruit and a protein (cottage cheese or yogurt w/ fresh fruit, celery sticks w/ peanut butter, an apple and low-fat cheese) or veggies and protein (homemade vegetable soup with chicken or beef in it, my southwestern-style black beans, leftover meat and veggies from dinner the night before).
The proteins aren't as low-cal as some other things you could snack on, so limit them for snacks (1-2 oz of meats, 1 oz of cheese, 1 T of peanut butter, etc). But you'll probably come out ahead in the long run by saving the calories from the 2nd (or 3rd) snack you'll have to have because the 1st one didn't fill you up enough.0
