Hi everyone!
I just joined last night. I did 5 half marathons 6-7 years ago as part of Team In Training. They only focused on running..nothing else. SO, I am losing weight, setting goals, and one is another half in about a year. My BIGGIE ? is, should I be doing core workouts as well as the cardio? I had a hard hard time at the halfs I did just by training to run. I want to kick it up this time!!
Any suggestions?

I like alternating C25K and core workouts, almost rediscovered that I have a core. AND I love the penguin. He got me through the only 1/2 I did.0

John Bingham is a motivational speaker for Team In Training with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. He is one of their keynote speaker at times at the big carb loading party the night before the race.
He went from being an overweight, smoker couch potato to do marathons, half marathons, and so on. He has written books that are not only motivational, but funny.
He makes running seem to be within the grasp of anyone.
He used to have an article on Runner's World I think, not sure if he does anymore.
Here are 2 sites about him:

Hope that answers your questions about being a penguin!
