My pushup resolution

Just finished Day 5 and it's definitely getting easier -- but I still can't make it through doing the "real" pushups. So here's my resolution: every day, do one more pushup than the day before. Today I did 6 pushups before fatigue set in and I had to switch to the modified version. Tomorrow I will do 7, the next day I will do 8, and I will keep pushing myself until I can make it through the whole set. I'm posting this here so I have some accountability :-) Anyone want to join me?

Yes I will join you! I suck at the girly ones and get so tired that I kind of quit on that bit! I will try to do at least 3 real push ups tomorrow. I am taking today off to heal my poor muscles lol

I'm with you!!! My arms CAN NOT support my full body weight! It's horrible. Gotta up my arm strength.

I'm willing to bet this works for the modified ones too. If you're not finishing those, try adding on one more each day, and then once you do, try to add in one real pushup at the beginning. Does anyone know whether there are pushups in Level 2? I hate these so much, but kind of want the chance to get good at them :-)

Level 2 does have push ups and lots and lots of plank style stuff, but the push ups aren't in prolonged sets.

Even though I sincerely doubt I'll ever be able to do push-ups, but am going to try and do some(even the girly ones!) later in the day to try and get my body used to them. I'm also planning to do stretches because I just can't stretch my legs out very far for the stretches at the end.

You can try to squeeze 100 push up challenge to your day. It takes just a few minutes but will make you stronger. Google it.

If I can make it to 10 I'll be happy... 20 and I'll be thrilled :-)

I can only do about 10 girly push ups for each set. It's hard! I'm doing day 9 tonight and my goal is to do the girly push ups for the whole time. Real push ups will have to come later. Maybe when I finish 30 DS, I'll have better upper body that will allow me to do a push up then.

I've completely messed up my wrist, the tendons are completely inflamed now on my right wrist, instead of giving up on the exercise set, think I'm going to try do a plank, then after a week resting will start trying to get a couple of press ups in. Do you think that will still count?

Ouch, sounds painful. I even wonder if plank would be a good idea. Maybe you could look into those push-up bars (where you're gripping a handle, instead of bending your wrist)?

You can do it now it just takes a few minutes a day. I did it last month but quit when I hit like 20 pushups. I think I will start it up again.

That sounds so painful. Plank will probably hurt too. You could do them against a wall.
