Did any of you have trouble sleeping after you quit? I am on Day 7 and while it has been suprisingly easier than i expected the one thing that has really bothered me is that i keep waking up. all night long. i have never had trouble sleeping in my life and now i am waking up on avg 5x a night. my husband says i am not snoring anymore so i guess that is good (for him) but this is driving me nuts. anyone??

i started waking up REALLY early in the morning when I quit, like 4 or 5am. but nothing like what you're experiencing. weird things happen to people when they quit, but hopefully it's just nerves and you'll get over it soon. good luck!!0

I don't wake up a lot but I have a terrible time falling asleep. But I've always had a hard time falling asleep, even as a teenager. Sometimes it can take two hours or more even if I am exhausted.
.
Congrats on making it to seven days! Keep up the good work!0 -

Don't give up. It was the same with me, it was horrible, I swear. I used to sleep without problems but after quitting I had the same problems you're describing from day 8 until day 19. After that I had a few "smoking dreams" where I dreamt I was really smoking... They, too, went and I'm fine now. Day 7 is great, stick to it! It is so wonderful to be looking back at what you've achieved once you're past 2,3,4 weeks. Be prepared that the cravings might come back, not intense and less often.

I can never sleep.. I don't know if it's because of quitting smoking or because I just started having a significant amount of stress at the time I decided to quit. It may be from stress..?0

I went through a terrible week this week. Had my first hearing at the Appeals Tribunal (have to fight for my job). I couldn't sleep at all. Stress can keep your heart rate up and can keep you awake all night long. This is normal because if a person or an animal are in danger, they have to be awake and alert. That's nature.
Quitting smoking very often has sleeping problems as a side effect but ONLY for a couple of days. Your metabolism is changing and so is your heart rate. All is changing for the better and your body has to get used to it.
All the best of luck and, please, stay quit. I was so nervous before the hearing and afterwards I was standing outside the court house with other who were smoking. It didn't even come into my mind to have one/ask for one. I know now that nicotine DOES NOT CALM ME DOWN!!!!!!!!
Today I'm 80 days quit, almost 3 months :flowerforyou:0
