So I'm going ripped in 30 (a different Jillian video, but follows the same formula)
Anyone else doing this too?

I am going to do this after the 30 day shred! I have never tried ripped in 30 before and I would love to hear how it is. Have you done the 30 day shred before?

I have done 30DS before but not consistently... I'm hoping to stick to it this time!

I tried it for a few days, I liked it but I liked 30DS more, but then again I never got to the different levels. What I did like about it was that if there is something you dot like doing so only does them once so you only have to do them for a week and not 10 days ( there is 4 diff workouts)
    I am in after the 30DS :)

I could do that, right? but finishing the 30DS since this is my 3rd go around (never got out of level one OR through all 30 days) hoping with the group mentality I will stick it out this go-around

The only time I finished the shred I started going back and forth between day 2 and 1 and 3. The levels really do get so much more intense. I have only completed level 3 a few times. Once all of the jumping moves start I really feel it in my ankles :( But I hear ripped in 30 is about the equivalent of the 30 DS just with a lot more variations. you should definitely do ripped in 30 with me after the 30ds!!! I need the support too.

LadyBB, you rock! I would like to do the 'Ripped in 30', but have to prove to myself that I can finish 30DS first. This is my 3rd attempt and I hope with the inspiration of all the others' input on here, I WILL. WHEN I finish, I'll try the Ripped workout. I'll keep watching for your input on this thread in the meantime. -Elke

Way to go! (Are you doing 30DS or ripped?) I havent moved on from level one yet but I did move up from 5lb weights to 8lbs. and I am feeling the burn today!!!! One of my oh so many goals is to be able to complete the shred with 10lb weights!!! I feel crazy even saying that. LOL

I am doing ripped in 30. I can't imagine doing 8 pound weights! I have moved to 2 kg weights which is about 4.5 lbs!! Keep up the great work!

ok, I am getting into this VERY late in the game, but I figured it's better late than never where exercise is concerned. I live in a small town and the biggest store is Walmart. I found Jillian's Ripped in 30 there and bought it yesterday. I also found online the original 30 Day Shred and I was going to order it, but was waiting until hubby got paid.
Q: first workout on Ripped in 30 was hard, do I switch over to the 30 DS when it gets here, or are they at the same exercise level?

Q: How do you count your DVD exercise time....as cardio, as strength, as individual exercises broken down into minutes?

    Any help is appreciated!

MelissWi originally mentioned that level 1 of Jillian's 30-day-shred was available on YouTube. You could check it out there before you commit to a purchase. Haven't thought about how to record the Ripped in 30 as I'm still in the middle of 'the shred'. I plan on getting to the ripped workout in February. ( recording the shred as 'circuit training, general',if that helps any) I really 'like' the shred so far, it's kicking my butt.

Great, thanks for the info. I hadn't thought about looking at Youtube for it, thats good to know. I am still sore from that my first workout on Thursday....3 days ago. I thought I was in pretty good shape until I did Jillian's workout. I have a whole new level of respect for the people she trained on the Biggest Loser.
Thanks for the info on how you count it, too. It encourages me when I can count it in my dairy.

Just a note, the "Circuit training, general" listed my expenditure as 262 calories but with my HRM it's 400+ calories. Don't be discouraged if you think the expenditure's peanuts because chances are, you're burning way more.

"determined1221' and I plan on going for the Ripped-in-30 after we finish the 30-day-shred ( around February 7th) If you are game, we'd love to join you in the Ripped endeavor after the Shred. ( after a couple of days rest maybe?)
