hello i am keen to get more lean and i think that after researching the diet from robb wolf mainly it is a good idea. i would just like to have a bit of a start up indication of how it will effect me in the transition.
at present i am pretty low carb at 150-180g 200g of protein and around 45-55g fat. i am 80kg and to be honest my main aim is to get lean and achieve a six pack. i have been training in a gym for the past 2 years, before this i was playing a lot of rugby.
any advice would be greatly appreciated and i would be happy to answer any questions.

I recommend finding a local Crossfit gym in your area and checking them out. Most everyone in Crossfit is lean, super athletic and has a sixpack. The paleo lifestyle is a common theme in Crossfit which promotes low carbs and lots of lean meats and vegetables.0

Read everything you can find about Paleo and plan ahead for food. I shop weekly.0

I got started by buying this cookbook: http://www.amazon.com/Everyday-Paleo-Sarah-Fragoso/dp/098256581X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1327951488&sr=8-1
There's a whole lot of info in the beginning of the cookbook about eating Paleo, there's some awesome recipes, and in the back, there is a 30 day meal plan and shopping list. There are even some good workout tips in the back--most of the moves taken from regular Cross Fit moves. I have had the book for 8 months or so and I still make almost all of our meals from it since they are so good. I also frequently refer to the author's blog: http://everydaypaleo.com/
Good luck!! If you're like me, you'll notice after about a week that your energy levels will be greater than ever, and before long, you'll start leaning out all around.0 -
Three weeks ago, I had no clue what Paleo was. I signed up for a class at the gym (had no clue what it was, but the lady said it was perfect for me). NOW, I have eased into the diet with little trouble and have been doing X-fit for all three weeks.
I didn't go quite as far as throwing away all processed foods in my cupboards because budget wise, that couldn't happen... but I did trade some of the junk to get a room painted, donated some, and just moved the rest of it to a top shelf I can't reach.
I started with the simple concept and am slowly building from there. The first week, I still had some non-paleo foods, but I tried to keep my lunches and dinners to meat and veggies.
A few tips... try new food. I got burnt out on salads about the third one I had. I used to HATE some of the veggies that I am now eating on a regular basis. I'm finding foods I never liked have a better taste to them than I remember. If you are looking for weight loss, keep your fruit intake down and then have that when you are craving something sweet. Plan your meals out, pre-pack your breakfasts and lunches (and even your dinners if it helps!)... I have not attempted to venture out to a resturant yet because I'm still learning.
I had no issues not eating the pasta or breads, but I do miss cheese sometimes, and I have a flex day each week where I allow myself to have it.
For anyone else, most everyone is not everyone in X-fit so don't feel discouraged if you aren't in tip-top shape and want to try to start it. It is hard core and you have to be pretty dedicated... but I'm finding everyone very supportive as I'm learning and working at it. Commit to it, and it will make a difference! (At least that's what I keep telling myself!)0
