I dress in layers for bed, then just peel the layers off when I get hot. I also have extra blankets and a sheet. Layers everywhere is where it's at!0

I agree. Layers are my friend, and hopefully yours too. People think it odd that I'm wearing a short sleeved light weight shirt in the winter, but I also have a sweater (I like zip or button front, not pull overs (too messy on the hair) that I put on or take off as needed. Some carry little battery operated personal fans, but I never had to do this, although I did step outside in cool weather occasionally, or find an excuse to open the fridge door (careful with that one if it is a trigger to eating and you are trying to lose weight too!) :blushing:0

Layers are good, a pocket fan is very helpful and even a big fan in the bedroom for those volcanic moments (if your other half doesn't mind).
I take Agnus castus every day and it reduced the night sweats to a manageable level. Also avoid caffeine if possible.
Hoping to try black cohosh to see if that works better0 -
I just hope they don't go on for years on end. I'm already sleep deprived because ot them. I really don't want to take HRT either! I'm afraid I'll cave eventually though, because this is miserable!!0

I felt the same way about HRT, it turns out so far to be the best move i have made, my hot flushes/night sweats have reduced dramatically, i finally sleep and i have my energy back!!! You need to way up the pros and cons of HRT i guess, but for now its the right choice for me. :happy:0

Im not coping very well with night sweats either, I wake up to use the toilet 4 or 5 times a night sometimes and then waking up through the night feeling hot, Ive not had a proper nights sleep since July. So frustrating as Im a busy Mum and have a 3 children (age 7, 10 and 13) and have to be up and engerised ready to do the school run!! Also makes me feel really tearful lately too.0

I absolutely LOVE my HRT!!! I immediately had more energy and a more positive outlook. I pretty much HAVE to be on them because I'm 37 and have NO ovaries. The doc and I decided that it was best for me for a while to help reduce the likelyhood of osteoperosis.
Of course, for the first month I was a nut-job...then I switched to a different kind and gained 20 pounds. I'm right where I need to be now after a few months of trial and error - and really couldn't be happier!
HRT isn't for everyone. But it is most definintely right for me!0
