Generic vs. Name Brand

I had heard this before and always get Synthroid, never the generic, but they just ran a spot on the news about it, so I thought I would post. The generic levothyroxine can vary too much from batch to batch and maker to maker. The doctor recommended that Synthroid be taken since it's the same batch after batch. If you've ever been on generic and noticed fluctuations in how you feel (as I did when I was on it years ago), this is one reason why.

    my doc. said the same thing. synthroid is best

    I tried the generic first, but I had a bad allergic reaction and was switched to the Name brand. My pharmacy keeps trying to give me the generic though x.x
