Anyone else feeling screwed in their tax situation and highly annoyed the people who get $1000's back because they have kids to claim?? :explode:
No, this doesn't make me want a kid...but it really pisses me off that we (hard working homeowners who pay all our bills on time) always end up feeling screwed this time of year, while I these idiots with 4 kids (on welfare) are getting HUGE tax refunds even though they're already sponging off the state in the first place!

i'm with you! my brother gets a crapload of money b/c he has 3 kids.

I just get annoyed, because here in the Detroit area, there's a news story every few days about Bridge Card (food stamp) abuse and these women whose houses burn down and they're usually like 23 years old, with 4 kids (no daddies to be found), no job, .....and you KNOW they're getting a huge tax refund while we have to keep paying and paying, and paying!
My brother-in-law's girlfriend got back $10K last year, because she's got 3 kids and one is mentally disabled (no child support and get a ton of supplements from the state), and can barely hold down a job. She's a disgusting excuse for a parent too....0 -

Yes, and it makes me SICK. She's a horrible mother, and honestly, an all-around horrible person. I can honestly say, I'd never met someone with NO redeeming qualities whatsoever before this woman. One kid is mentally disabled so she gets a lot more for that one...doesn't really get her any special care that she needs, but won't surrender her to the state because she's a 'little cash cow'....its really appaling! Yet WE get to pay more taxes...nice!! Sadly, this has been done several times by neighbors and teachers. The system is screwed...and the poor kid doesn't stand a chance. UPDATE: All three of her kids have now been removed from her home (which she's losing anyway because she didn't make payments), I hate to say that someone deserves to lose their children, but in this case, its true. She and my brother-in-law aren't together anymore and she's already moved in with some guy who just got out of jail (not sure if he or his record has any relation to why she lost the kids), but anyway...I'm hoping they can be placed in a good foster home and maybe get the help they need from someone else, if its not too late for them already!

We alos contribute to the education of everyone else's children here in CA our property taxes go to education - that grates a little too.0 -

As a public school teacher (who has NOOOO plans of having her own kids. EVER.), my salary is paid through tax dollars. To be honest, I would much rather pay educational taxes to promote an intelligent society.
But then again, I live in Louisiana. Crooked politicians, all money goes to sports (as an arts teacher, this bugs me), and we're in the first year of the most ridiculous educational reform in recent history.0 -
I totally agree! Permission to rant all you want about this one. I think I should get a tax break for being less of a strain on society because I don't have kids.0
