I wouldn't know, since I don't wear underwear when I run :blushing: , but I'd imagine the idea is to have a wicking fabric to reduce moisture "down there". If that doesn't tend to be an issue for you, seems like it wouldn't be worth it! Heck, even if it is an issue, my approach would be a cheaper solution.

If i wear anything under my lycra, it tends to chafe. Free as a bird

I NEVER wear underwear, so no I don't think they make a difference LOL!

I have to wear some sort of "runderwear" or my junk gets chafed. I don't wear underwear per se, but I wear short length tights under my running shorts.

I must say, I never really thought I'd be sharing the details of my underwear fashions (or lack thereof) with all of you... I feel so much closer to you all now!

To me yes they make a huge difference. If I'm not wearing the running shorts w/the built in briefs, then I go with UA or some cheaper pair of spandex/wicking "shorts" . They really help with chafing and wicking away the sweat

I wear Nike dri-fit or UA compression shorts. They make a big difference. No chaffing of any sort. At $25 a pair, yes, they are pricey. But so worth it. I pretty much wear them for all exercise now, but most importantly distance running and basketball.
