Welcome! Please tell us a little something about yourself and what we can do to be supportive for you!
Thanks for joining us and feel free to post, post, post!!! We believe that our support comes through posting for each other.
I am Michelle(Shelle 68) and I have 3 adult daughters and 1 granddaughter. I have a long way to go with weightloss but am now figuring out what works for me and the scale is moving!!! I started this challenge b/c I want to be surrounded by people that have "the eye of the tiger" on their goals as I do! Valentines Day (or whatever holiday may be next) is special to me and therefore I have set my sites on it for some major accomplishments!
The way I can be supported is to read postings from others as we journal through this journey! It really helps me out!

Hi everyone -- I am Dorie (shapestocome). I am happily married for 14 years and have no children except one black lab that is definitely our spoiled kid! My weight loss journey has been all of my life but I hit my highest weight of 193 in 2001 but since then I lost 45 pounds (actually twice ) but I have kept it down since 2007. I attribute keeping my weight off to giving up the diet mentality. I feel that not giving food labels -- "good" food, "bad" food, and just treating everything as food I do a whole lot better. I do want to lose the last 15 pounds to be the best me I can be! Although I feel great at this weight, I know I can feel better.
I can be supported by having people to be accountable to. I feel this is key! It is easy to say "oh, I will do this tomorrow" but tomorrow never comes. So let's do this together and help each other achieve our goals!0 -

Michelle -- Thanks to you and sfergy for putting this challenge together. I will support you in any way I can. Congrats on the 49 pounds down and figuring out what works for you! That is the other key0 -
Dorie, WELCOME, ((( BIG HUG)))! I know you can get the rest of your weightloss off! And thank you for sharing what you feel caused you to put it back on before. I often wonder about that. I have never really lost significant amounts of weight since maybe 20 years ago and don't want to put this back on!
I agree with how you need supported. I am there too! I believe the best way to handle that is for us to be VERY active in this group. Please feel free to respond to anybody and everybody's posts and hopefully the momentum will catch on and we will have lots of chat on here that is supportive and educational!
Again welcome!!! You are a great addition to our group!0 -
Hi, I'm Katie. I'm almost 26 years old, married and have two beautiful boys. One is 2 years old and my baby is 4 months old. I work a FT job in human resources and enjoy working, but when I get off at 5pm I can't wait to spend time with my family. I have strugged with my weight for as long as I can remember and started my lifestyle change on 11/1/11 and since then have dropped 18lbs and I feel amazing. I honestly can't remember the last time I was in the 180's. I found MFP in mid-December and it's helped me so much! I love being in challenge groups (as well as this one) as it keeps me motivated, accountable and pushes me to do more and try new things.
Nice to meet you all!!0 -
Thanks Michelle -- sometimes I wonder if I will ever get it off so thanks for the vote of confidence!!

Hi Dorie! Yes, I am busy, but love it. And before I know it my babies will be pre-teens and want nothing to do with me. But I know we want at least 1 more baby so we aren't done yet.0 -
Hi Im Kim, Im a student in my first year studying zoology with animal behaviour. My goal ultimately is to get to 112lbs (Im 5'1") but as a mini goal I want to get into the habit of not eating as much sugar from biscuits and sweets. Also I want to start doing the Couch to 5k workouts but at the moment need a bit of encouragement to get running...0

Hi Kim! Welcome to the group! Great goals! You can go on the daily tracker to track your goals for the week to help you stay accountable and get encouragement! I am doing the couch 2 5K right now. I am on Week 6 Day 2 tomorrow. I twisted my ankle on Tuesday so I just walked yesterday and today but I am going to try to run on it tomorrow. You will be able to do it. It amazes me that I can do it -- I was never a runner. I am signing up for a 5K in the end of April. Anyway... welcome look forward to getting to know you better! We have a mini challenge too that you can check out! Let us know if you need anything.
