Training Plan suggestions?

Hi all - I just joined MFP today, I have used Livestrong MyPlate in the past but wanted to see if this one worked a little better for me. I ran my first half last fall, with a knee injury and did not perform well. Knee is mostly recovered, so I am building a base of 25 miles/week (some of those miles are walking if my knee flares up) and will start a training plan for a half at the end of April. My first half, my time was 2:09, but I think I can get in under 1:50. I have been running for less than two years. I really want to increase my speed. Any tips on training plans? If you could include specifically why you liked or didn't like a plan that you tried, that would be great.
