Ab Crunches Everyday.....

I have the muffin top.... I have some weight to loose.. Is it a good Idea to do a small amout (less than 200 overall within different types) of ab crunches every day... Is it OK or should I do it every other day??? What do you think???

Ab crunches are okay. Ab crunches on a swiss ball are better. They don't need to be every day (like any exercise).

Mostly, I think you need to accept that is it tragically impossible to spot reduce. So while you want to get rid of muffin top the only way of doing that is to lower your overall body fat. Losing weight will help but body fat is crucial to getting a better physique.

While everyone has opinions on how you do this I think a lot of women here have found a few things:

    1. eat clean with sufficient amounts of protein (probably a lot more than you're getting or what MFP suggests)
    2. Resistance is crucial. That is heavy lifting.
    3. hours on the treadmill/not eating will not get you there.

I'm with her!! ^^^^^ You can get abs without doing a single crunch!! (which is good for me because of past lower back issues). Compound movements/exercises that incorporate your core are great, i.e. squats, deadlifts, walking lunges with a twist, pushups/variations of planks. If you're gonna do cardio, HIIT is a great way to go. You will continue to burn calories when you aren't even exercising vs steady state cardio which you don't. But the abs are really made in the kitchen.

    Good luck!:flowerforyou:
