I am doing a bit of a copy paste here so there is no reason why you shouldn't read this. Our friend Galaxyhearts posted a blog post and I think we all should read it. I was going to post the link but I thought "what if you don't read it?" So here it is!
{ What we have to remember on our weight loss adventure is that to make a permanent change requires a long and complicated process of ups and downs.
In Lord of the Rings, the ring couldn't just be held onto for safe keeping or hidden away. It doesn't solve the problem. It has to be taken through a long and arduous journey and properly destroyed.
That's what losing weight is like. You will likely come close to failure. There will be many steps backwards and forwards. It is not ever going to be easy, and it is not ever going to be perfect.
There might be times where you need others to carry you along - to push you forward.. but ultimately you must be the one to do it.
Lots of people expect to follow the plan on MFP, and see a steady decline in their weight. It doesn't work that way. You will have days where your will power falters. You will have days where ordering the dessert is more important to you than your weight loss. There will be months where you lose a lot of weight and months where you don't lose any at all.
And that's okay - because we cannot hope to resist temptation if we never allow ourselves to indulge.
That is not, however, an excuse. You can give in once in a while but you cannot give up.
NO PERSON IS MEANT TO BE OVERWEIGHT.
NO PERSON IS SUPPOSED TO BE WEAK.
You can absolutely do this. But you have to want it bad enough. You have to do what needs to be done and you can never give up. }
