It's getting really quiet in here now that the new year buzz is down... If you're still on board, and still losing... Lets make this group active again! We need to support each other!
Come on!

Woo KCrandi, I agree!! How is everyone doing?!? Where has everyone gone?? I know we lost a few shredders, but what about all the non-shredders?? How are the goals coming along??0
-
I've gained a few lbs but haven't stuck yo my plan the last few weeks. Back on the horse this week and I think re-starting is harder than the initial start!0
-
I'm still here!! :drinker: :flowerforyou: Trying to workout everyday but still losing a bit every week so that's the important thing!!0
-
Non-shredder here... I'm still going and the scale is moving in the right direction after a 2 week standstill:) It has been VERY quiet. As a non-shredder I was starting to feel left out. Glad you guys are still here.0
-
My love handles are still here, so as long as they're around, SO AM I! haha Glad to see some other people still around. I've been feeling pretty confident about the decisions I've been making and I'm happy with how things are going.. but I need some sort of challenging thing to light a fire under my butt again now that we're almost into February. Although, I'm down almost 10Lbs this month, I can reach my goal by the summer if I keep it up!0

Glad to see there's still progress happening! My weight loss has really slowed since school started this semester... I'm sure it's a lot of things that are causing that like STRESS, not sleeping as many hours as I like to, not eating on my regular schedule, not working out as often as I should be. Ugh, it makes me feel so old!! I always hear people talking about "not having time" or being "too tired" to exercise and think that's just an excuse, now I'm making them!! Because I really am SO tired by the time I get home!! lol So I need to work on that, I need to take a lesson from this season's biggest loser and stop the excuses!! I did do better this week than last week, though, so progress! Plus, I think now that I'm halfway to my first goal, the weight loss was going to slow anyways. I mean that's what I keep reading. :ohwell:
BTW, does anyone watch the Biggest Loser?? HOW DO THOSE WOMEN LOSE 10-11 POUNDS IN A WEEK???!! They're not even THAT heavy!! I mean they're in the low to mid 200s and dropping that kind of weight?!? CRAZY. I'm lucky to lose a pound a week!!
Anyways! Hope everyone is doing well and pushing toward those goals!!! I did reach my Birthday goal which was to hit Onederland by next Sunday, I'm officially at 198, so yay!! Next, I have 195 by March 2nd and 180 by June 15th!!! I gotta keep pushing!!!0 -
I'm still here too! I'm one of the "shredders" though. I struggled through the first couple of weeks of this year when, despite increasing my exercise considerably and watching what I ate, I actually GAINED a little weight :-(, but the third week was great it seems the losses are now beginning to come :-) I am now only 1lb away from my first goal - getting to be "overweight"! (Out of that horrible "other" category!) I've had a good week this week so as long as I get through this weekend well (always a challenge for me!) then I am hopeful that Monday's weigh in will get me to this goal! Determined to be "good" this weekend!0

I am still here, and still shredding. Seems that the slow weight loss has gotten even slower the past couple weeks. But as long as it's not heading back up, I guess I'm glad!0
-
Ive been shredding! I have had a few setbacks though was in the hosptial last week with pnemonia. BUt I have still lost pounds and inches so Im feeling good, Giving myself the weekend to get my house back in order then Monday it is back to the shred!0
-
I haven't started shredding yet, but I've lost 9 pounds in 4 weeks. I am very happy with that, but after suffering from a bout of bronchitis, I'm just about ready to hit the gym/30DS again.0

They must only consume like 500 cals after burning everything, etc. It's ridiculous how much they lose.0 -

I hear you! My first week back at classes and I only made it to the gym one day, I had to take the rest of the week off. I just couldn't do it. The stress and exhaustion of school, work, kids, gym, life had already begun to consume me. But the next week (this week) I went back to it... made it ALL three days (my usual gym schedule) and made it through my appointment with my trainer. She bout killed me, literally! I think my body truly needed that week off because during that week my scale FINALLY moved down after over 2 weeks of a standstill.
You can do this. One day at a time:)0 -

I'm glad someone understands! Makes me feel like less of a baby, though I don't have the added stress of kids, too lol KUDOS TO YOU!!!! :drinker: I couldn't do it!!! I did much better last week, but I've been sick since Friday, so the weekend has been rough. haha of course! As soon as I start getting back on track
Btw shredders, I know I haven't gotten last week's results posted yet and I am SO sorry!!! The week has just been crazy. I will have them up tomorrow, PROMISE.
Have a great week everyone0 -

I am guessing I speak for all of us when I say - Don't worry about it! We appreciate all the extra work you are putting into this and you shouldn't have to feel rushed when you have so much going on. It'll happen when it happens. :happy:0 -
Hi everyone. I just joined the group. Looks like no one has posted in a while. But reading through all of your posts is very motivating. I have recently hit my top weight. The scale looked up at me and said 181.8. AND thats after I have been eating BETTER for the past month. I realized that it is because I sit at a desk all day. I am like a dog on a lease that doesn't go more than ten feet past my computer for 8 hours. So this week I made a change. My boyfriend and I have been to the gym twice already and one day I went for a bicycle ride. Just trying to get moving. I do not want to starve myself, as I feel I won't keep the weight off that way. But I am watching what I eat and trying to eat lots of veggies. I am mixing cardio with weight training, and since muscle weights more than fat, I am more concerned with shape and size (as welll as how I feel), than the number on the scale. But I would like to get back down to 168, which was my normal for a very long time. After that, I would like to get as low as 140, but I haven't seen that since high school (I am going to be 25 in a couple months). I mainly want to look and feel better by summer, as I bought a new bikini at the end of last year and right now, I don't think I will be wearing it like I am. Anyway, I just hoped to join and help get everyone motivated, as well as myself. It sounds like some of you are doing a really great job at getting that weight off. Now time to keep it up after January!0

Welcome to the group!! I have the same kind of goals you have. I hit 181.5 (after I quit smoking) and decided I didn't want to weigh that much anymore. I am about a pound or two away from my weight before I quit (169), which was my first goal. Ultimately I am aiming for 140, but I haven't weighed that much since I was 25, and that was 15 years ago. So I am really going to just see what weight I feel good at. I haven't made any huge changes (or I probably would have given up by now) but I'm trying to eat healthier and get at least some exercise. I have to admit I have been slacking off a little the past couple weeks - I think I am having a mid-winter slump. Lol. But I wanted to say congrats on making a change for your health and good luck!!0 -
I am new to this group too. I turn 30 this year and am bound and determined to be at my goal weight by November. At first I was full of doubt thinking that I am setting my goal too high, but ironically I counted the weeks and it is right at 40 weeks away. All I have to do is loose 1 pound per week which is verry doable. Looking forward to it.0

I'm still here logging in and tracking my food just about every day. My weight hasn't changed, up and down then usually back to 180 lbs. I felt that I was losing inches, so I'm starting to track my measurements. Plus I found someone on the message boards who posted a spreadsheet to give you a more realistic calorie goal...so I'm consuming more now 1664 calories a day regardless of whether I'm working out or not. I'm hoping it will get the scale to move down for me. With strength training I am definitely noticing more muscles too. So all in all it hasn't been a terrible couple of months and muscles is also a good thing.
I just have my BFP checked and its at 30.4%...right at the Needs improvements. Hope to get it to 24 - 25%.0 -
Still here...I am down to 20 lbs. to go, but it's going very slow! Starting to get back into exercising so hoping to lose the last 20 and trim up. Zumba tonight! :-)0

I'm new to this group I have been on MFP for 1 week, and I like it so far. I am training for a 5k in May. I only have 1200 net calories per day, and I do eat my exercise calories. I'm 5'5'', and I want to lose 35 pounds. I currently weigh 166.
I have a few questions for you experienced weight losers
What is a shredder and a non shredder? I keep seeing this in the boards and I got no clue.
How often do you weigh yourself?0 -
Shredders were those that were doing Jillian Michael's 30 day shred dvd. We had a group doing it "together" at the beginning of the year. And I don't know how often others weigh in. I tend to be a bit ocd with the weighing, so I do every day. But it helps keep me motivated.
Also - welcome aboard!! :happy:0 -
Hi, I'm new to this group! My name is Michelle, I'm 5'6", and I've been trying to lose 35lbs (from 165 down to 130). I wouldn't mind losing 40 and getting down to 125, though!
I have been taking a kind of low key approach because I'm trying to make changes that I can stick to even after I reach my goal weight. Basically just eating smaller portions, three meals plus a snack every day, limiting junk food but not cutting it out completely, and drinking only water.
I exercise by jumping rope and doing crunches, and I HATE it! I really prefer walking, so I do that whenever I can get away from the house. Unfortunately it's getting hot here already.
I've only been doing this for a month, and I have already lost 10 pounds!0 -
How often do you weigh yourself?
I try to only weigh myself once a month. It keeps me from getting frustrated at how slowly the pounds come off. But, I "cheated" and weighed myself early this month, and I was shocked to find out I'd lost twice as much as I expected!0 -
I wanna congratulate you on your 10 pounds lost! How are things going? I noticed it's been a while since the last post.
BTW Hi everyone! Name's Mahea. Tryin to get down to 140 from 192. 42 pounds total. I'm a pear shape and I hear the Fat on the lower half is tough to shred. It's ugly and i'd really like it to get lost. Any helpful tips? I read and read about it all the time but I need to hear it countless times till it actually sticks to me. ha ha.0 -
Hey, I'm here again! I got pregnant and had a baby since that last post. I was at 159 when I got pregnant, and now I'm at 145, so yay! I'm starting an exercise challenge tomorrow, hoping to lose 10 more pounds. Then I'm gonna call it good!0
