Midnight Shifter here...

Hey guys...
I am a 32 year old female nurse who works 12 hour midnight shifts. 7p-7a.
It is extremely challenging! Some days I don't eat nearly enough calories because I am napping for the next shift which I think is partly why I became so overweight. I was very excited a group like this is on here. Just joined! Hoping to make new friends that face the same problems as me. ( figuring out what to eat when, battling fatigue, and meal ideas for night shift) Feel free to add me as a friend too. Would love the extra support.

Hi, I work many overnights too . Some times 12-14 hour shifts. Currently I'm using my clients little peddle machine trying to burn a few calories while I'm working. it's defiantly hard planning my meals working various shifts especially my over nights. I try eating one meal at work some times breakfast some times like a lunch. And exercise any way possible. I jogged up and down the stairs at a clients house once or when they have rehab equip there I use it. Or other days just walk around the house or do floor exercises. I hope this helps. Get some sleep its very important too even tho it's hard.0

Hey there, I work 7p-7a also and I love everything about it except the food schedule! I never know when to eat or what day I'm counting against. My solution has been to really try and listen to my body, am I eating because it's "time" to eat or because I'm hungry? I end up some days eating constantly and some days sleeping and hardly eating at all. I think at this point that it "all comes out in the wash" as they say. I try to make conscious choices, but for some reason in the middle of the night at work, it really is hard. And I don't know about you, but we don't have many good options available at work, so we have to think ahead. But I could never work days (no thank you getting up at 530am!) so I'm goin to keep on trying.0

Same here, 7P to 7A. Love it, love working nights, but I don't like having to tweak my meals around. I'm glad to find this group as well.0

I just fixed my meal labels for here . I got breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks , then over nights. That way I can put the food during work in its own place and skip any meals I sleep threw. I added the drinks just to keep track of them more.0

Wow thats a really good idea. I normally just throw them in somewhere and figure it's all in a day, but I think I'm gonna start doing it this way! Thanks!0

Hi, I'm a newbie. I work 7p-7a as a Respiratory Therapist. I come home and sleep from 8:30-3:30/4, get up and work out from 4-5, shower, and leave for work at 6p. My calorie counting flips at midnight no matter if I am working or not. Just easier for me to keep track of it that way. It's interesting to hear what everyone else does.0
