Confused about 5%

Hello! I am still learning about low carb dieting. I am confused about how everyone is coming up with 5% rule. I am supposed to have about 1200 calories per day and 5% of this is 60 carbs. Seems like everyone says their 5% is about 20 carbs. How is this possible? What am I missing? Thanks!

Any websites or info on this would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

    Did you try setting your customized goals on MFP?

    My Home > Goals > Edit Goals > Custom

    Mark fat at 60%, protein at 35%, and carbs at 5%.

    5% of 1200 calories is 60 calories, not carbs. 60 calories is 15 carbs . 4 calories per carb
