My daughter and I, almost 2 years on paleo, watched this documentary this afternoon. (Movies are the *thing* when it's -47° in Alaska.) And we felt there were too many variables in this vegetarian only concept and all the studies. We both think it's flour, sugar, and grains and highly processed foods that are the most destructive foods we eat.
Meat causes cancer? Hmmm don't quite buy that.
Even eating paleo we eat lots of lean proteins. Our fats are healthy fats. EVOO, coconut oil. And when I think of vegetables.. we TRY to buy organic but it arrives in Alaska half dead so many of our vegetables are probably pesticide laden. We eat a TON of veggies.
We weren't to impressed with the movie. But then, we are CAVEWOMAN! I've honestly never felt better eating paleo!
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

A friend tried to push this doc on me last week actually. It's based on "The China Study", which has been highly criticized. Here's a decent article critically analysing the (often selective) science used in the doc:

Here's a link to a debate between Loren Cordain, author of "The Paleo Diet" and T. Colin Campbell, author of "The China Study".
