I gain a lot of motivation and encouragement from success stories that mirror my own journey. Also watching my children grow makes me want to be as healthy as I can to live to see them through as many years as I can.

What motivates you?

What motivates me? I'd say the fact that I deserve better, but I always have and that didn't stop me from eating did it? My kids deserve a mommy that has the energy to play with them. My knees deserve to not hurt when I walk up stairs. My husband deserbes a wife that feels good about herself. I see my unhealthy eating habits mirrored in my son. I'm active in my childrens school and the majority of the woman there are totally fit. I'd like to wear something other than tshirts, and when I do now there is ALWAYS a sweater or sweatshirt over it. I'd like to not have to wear jeans all summer and die of heat stroke (lol). God gave me this body to serve Him, how can I do that when it has no energy? So many motivations, and that's only half.

I'm with you :) I've always been the fat friend. I want to be the one rocking cute little bathing suits and shorts and dresses that show off my back and arms without feeling like a whale wrapped like a sausage!

My two grandchildren motivate me. All my life I have been active, but also ate very badly. I had a heart attack two years ago. I am a Sugar Addict who refused to take meds before the attack, because I thought I could get my cholesterol down by myself. After all I ran two half marathons, and remained physically active. I was even at the gym doing circuit training, when I thought to myself. I had better get my check up, and start taking meds, cause I CANNOT seem to get my cholesterol down on my own. I had no discipline with staying away from the junk foods. Lo and behold, during my work out, I began to feel nauseous. In the next hour, I found myself at the hospital recovering from a stent that was put into one of my arteries which was blocked by a blood clot. Fortunately, I was able to be seen right away, and the doctor says I was very lucky. The damage was minimal. I was asked about my family heart history, and I discovered that bad hearts are genetic in my family. But, interestingly, better eating habits could have prevented this. Anyway, December 20, I found a site where I took the challenge to go on a 30 Sugar Free Challenge, and found MFP to log my food and receive support. Sarah, THANKS for the Group and its Name "Mission Possible: Changing for Us". It is soo right  I want to be around for my grandchildren and watch them grow up. They are DEFINITELY my motivation. Thanks for the opportunity to share. Debbie

My husband is my motivation. He's my best friend and my workout partner.

Last night I was not really feeling well and stayed home when he went to Bible Study. We are doing C25K and we go run at the gym Wed night after Bible study. He ended up going without me.

He did fine, but he said he just wasnt motivated because he didn't have my sexyness running beside him. :blushing:

I couldnt do this without him. He's supportive and going through all of it with me; finding better foods/recipes to eat, helping with cooking, working out with me, motivating me when I just want to be lazy.

I have the most awesome husband in the world!
