We see that a number of us are really banging the "YES" out of these goals and charts. Congratulations! I would love to see everyone share what is helping you do that?

Is there anything that you are doing that has caused a specific goal to start working for you?

Please share so that we can all be motivated! :)

  • I really think logging in here and tracking food and exercise help me. The days I did not track on here felt like I had to work harder to get the water in. I often forget to go to the goal page to mark my yes's but I was able to make the water goal everyday last week except Saturday which was a long travel day flying.

This is going to sound geeky (lol) but I took a screen shot of my goals and set it as my desktop picture so I remember what my goals are and when I look at them I see which one's I have to do yet! This helps me remember my goals I am working on, it's a good reminder!

Another thing I just started doing (I read it in a book) is when I want something to eat and I am not hungry, I write it down in a notebook instead of acting on it and then write down when I could have it, for example, tomorrow I will add X into my calorie allotment for the day. Or if I have extra calories before 9 I will write that I will eat it at 8pm or whatever. Either way, I try to delay it so I can get rid of impulse eating. Sometimes I will just forget it about it then or sometimes I will have it if I still want it at the time and I have the calories.

Also just sharing with the group -- I love groups, I feel I am more accountable when I need to log in here and share with everyone the good and the bad.
  • Shapes, great ideas. Thanks for sharing.

Kate -- my husband always laughs at me for having my goals or sometimes I have my meal plan as my desktop picture, he says normal people have pictures of their husbands, or pets, or kids and I have my goals/ meal plan for the day. Hmmm, that gives me an idea, I could do both

I try and enter my lunch and dinner into my food diary early in the day so I can see how many calories I WILL BE eating so I can plan my snacks around that. I always like to exercise in them morning so I can plan on having a little more lunch and dinner to eat some if not all of my exercise calories back. I really focus on my protein and sodium intake as well as calories so if I'm low on protein I try and plan my snacks to be protein dense (almonds, Greek yogurt, string cheese, hardboiled egg, etc.).

These are ALL great ideas! For me, I will have to say ALL of this is what works for me. I need the daily support, accountability too. I have to do the workouts, get my mind OFF of food and keep going.

But if I had to pick a particular thing, I would say getting my mind OFF of food is a biggy for me. I try to focus on everything but eating and then only what I need. Taste, hitting the spot, convenience, none of that is important. I am trying to eat to live not live to eat anymore. :)
