I found this to be extremely helpful. It is the Mayo Foundation web site. Particularly interesting was this link http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/weight-loss/NU00595 and then the part about drinking water.

The myth or however you want it to be stated about drinking eight 8 oz glasses of water still stands but it is the minimum. You should really drink more that that. Especially if you are wanting to lose weight and you are exercising.
