Did anyone watch the Dr. Oz show about "fat"urday?

I dvr'd it and watched last night with my husband.

He described the situation many of us posting here talk about everyday. How you eat healthy within your calorie limit and the weight doesn't come off. He said (which we know especially true with thyroid) is that your metabolism shuts down and goes into "survival" mode.

He suggested once a week (but not more that every 5 days) to do a calorie spike (suggested 1800 calories) and to indulge in foods you like but gave healthier versions of 3 meals & 2 snacks adding up to 1400 calories with 400 left to play with.

Here is a link if you missed it and want to read a brief recap of the show-

Have a great weekend! I am going to do a "fat"urday tomorrow!

Thanks, now I don't need to feel guilty when I over eat once a week!

Not necessarily a bad idea to do a day where you eat higher, but I can't take anything that Dr. Oz says seriously. I think the guy is a sensationalist quack that would tell you to eat pure poison if that was what was being recommended at the time and his ratings stayed high.
