Today was my first day trying CE and I have to say I did not love it. I felt like the camera moved around alot and it was hard for me to watch and see if I was going the move right. I feel like overall I was not hot or sweaty and the workout itself was "easy", or maybe I was not using high enough weights? Who knows maybe it was just different then I was expecting coming from Jillian (30DS) where it was alot of cardio and weights.

I just finished the Burn phase yesterday and started Push today. I have to say, I felt the same when I started it. I finisihed Turbo Fire (High Intenisity Cardio) then moved strait into Chalean Extreme. It's a completely different concept. It definiately took some getting used to for me and almost a complete mind reset. I don't have to burn 700 calories a day and sweat like crazy?! Muscle does burn fat! I have lost 4.5 inches in the Burn Phase and about 8 lbs. I am totally excited about my results and I can't wait to see how I look at the end. I would reccommend keeping an open mind and try it for 30 days. See what you think at the end of the first phase. Good luck!

Honestly, I don't feel much when I'm doing CLX. I don't feel the burn and I don't really get sweaty. I do see the "failure" and when that happens, I know I've gone heavy enough. Basically, failure is when you can't continue on and maintain good form.

Usually, I don't feel how hard I've worked until a couple days later when a few muscles are sore and I turn into a hungry monster trying to repair the muscle fibers.

I have only done it for a week, but I can see certain muscles start to swell up and I realize that when the day comes that I can see them all the time, it's going to look fantastic. I am still losing weight too.

However, you don't have to love it. If CLX just isn't rocking your world, there are lots of other workout programs out there to try.

I felt exactly the same way and was worried I would not stick with it. I am doing a TurboFire hyrbid with CE and just started Push 1 today, omg, I just had to put my arms down from typing, seriously!

I found the Burn 2 & 3 more fun and more natural for me but really focused on moving slowly, good form & using heavier weights than I thought I could. (wow, just had to rest my arms again, my biceps/triceps are killing me!) I must admit, I enjoy TurboFire much more so I throw a HIIT in before my CE worksouts to get me phsyced up but the results are amazing! My arms have NEVER been so toned and shaped and it is only the first month! I am also working out in front of a mirror so I can see the muscles in my arms/legs as I lift which helps with the form and of course motivation ;)

My hubby gave me a hug which led to a 5 minute arm evaluation, he was really surprised and impressed :) Keep with it slow & heavy definitely pays off!

    Thanks everyone for the feedback

You are right, maybe I need to gibe it more time. Maybe I will do it for 30 days and then decide. Cannot really give it a fair chance after 1 time

I felt that way the first week. It does get better. I had a feeling you were going to say that ( hot and sweaty) . Yes on the days you lift you won't be burning up the calories but you will be building muscle which you don't really do with cardio. Try doing some cardio AFTER you lift. I think you will like the cardio workouts ( burn intervals) but if not, pop in JM . Give it a week. I really have gained some nice tone and definition since I started.

You'll sweat and burn more calories when you start lifting heavy weights. Your muscles will start shaking, and it'll have more of a cardio effect. It's very important that you choose weights that make you fail between 10-12 reps (or 6-8 on the push phase). She mentions that throughout the entire program.

It's definitely a different approach than heavy cardio, but it will reshape your body. I am doing Insanity now, and it's a huge change of pace. Strangely enough, I actually burned more calories during CLX than I am during Insanity.

How heavy are you lifting? You truly need to step out of your comfort zone with weights and pick up a weight that will make you cringe by the time you hit 8, and just make it to 10. If you make it to 12 and you can keep going...you aren't lifting heavy enough. I've done one round of CLX already and lost 14 lbs and 18 inches....the program works. I just recently started a 2nd round of CLX...and the first day I did Burn, I picked up weights as heavy as Chalene was using and HOLY ISH - I was sweating, shaking, and sore for three days. Now I'm not suggesting you lift as heavy as Chalene does in your first round...but my point is you need to push it. 5 and 10 lbs isn't enough for most of those exercises. Anything with lower body you can pick up heavier weights ...the only thing you may consider laying low on are the posterior flys and delt work, until you build up strength in those small muscles - 5 lbs might be enough for you and 8 will be something to work toward. ;o) Also, you shouldn't be moving any faster than the group - slow and steady...
Give it some time...this program is very good!! (And I did JM stuff before going to CLX...I much prefer Chalene's motivating and encouraging personality over arrogant Jillian, LOL)
