Welcome! Congratulations to you for taking the first step on the path to a new you! In this group we are focusing on obtaining and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We are not about the latest fad diet, crash diets, very low calorie diets. We are not even about being on a "diet"! Our diet is what we eat to fuel our body properly. Proper nutrition is a must! Over the course of the 6 week challenge you will learn about and help others learn about healthy living, sharing experiences, learning what works for you and becoming a lean, mean, calorie burning machine!
So here's the gist of the program:
Week 1 - Focus on water intake. At least 64 ounces a day.
Week 2 - Focus on eating right while continuing to drink the water.
Week 3 - Focus on getting enough exercise while continuing eating right and drinking water. 90 minutes of cardio, 60 minutes of weight/resistance training.
Week 4 - Continue to work on the skills from before, work to improve, and add 15 minutes of stretching to your routine.
Week 5 - Continue as before, adding your 5 fruits and vegetables to your day.
Week 6 - Continue to improve, and get your 8 hours of rest at night.

    On Sunday evenings (USA, eastern time zone) the week's chat thread will come up. Everyone is expected to check in at least once during each week. I would like to encourage daily posting, as it really helps build up a sense of community among everyone. You need to report in your previous week's results by Tuesday morning. I will announce who gets the kudos in the evening. Kudos will get their own thread!
