    Not sure if the ultrasound required is internal or not, though there's a lovely little clause that 'allows' women to close their eyes during the scan.
    Well that's good, but I'd like to see them try and prevent a woman from closing. How would that go exactly? Would they get all Clockwork Orange on her?

    This was actually brought up in The Daily Show the other night. heh

    Ha! I guess you just wouldn't get the sign-off/piece of paper you need until you looked. Patronising emotional blackmail at its' most potent.:grumble:

    They just passed a law requiring a regular ultrasound at least 24 hours before an abortion. Idiots. I guess by "smaller government" they mean the size that can fit in a uterus.

    I think the picture in that story speaks for itself. The state-mandated coercive procedure meets the legal definition of rape, IMO. It is just another attempt by ideological and religious extremists to establish a de facto theocracy, based on principles the Taliban would be proud of.
