What is the one characteristic that you just can't overlook in potential dates.?

............for me I can't date a guy shorter than me........same height is reallllly pushing it

This may not be the right place to say this but for me it is exceedingly obese girls that make excuses and then sit around doing nothing and eating poorly rather than trying to get healthy. It is fine if you are obese as long as you are trying. I want to live for a long time and would prefer the girl have the same view.

Hmmmmm I have to go with short guys for some reason they seem to go in the little brother catagory with maybe one exception....... and drug use I have kids and I just cant have that around them or myself

I PREFER a man taller than me too; however, more importantly I will have to go with:

He must be Christian
He must not live at home with mom/dad/brother/sister/etc
He must have a job
He must be divorced for at least a year before getting even one date with me
He must be family and goal oriented

The list goes on! Is this really too much to ask?

I won't date someone shorter. I am 5'9 and somehow keep dating men who are 5'9 also.

Bad teeth are also a deal breaker for me.

Another tall one here... I did date a guy that was about 2 inches shorter than me a while back and I hated not wearing heels! He didn't have a problem with my height but I don't want to feel bigger than my guy.

I prefer 6'0 and over.

Also a guy with no ambition, no job, a mama's boy, emotionally immature (i.e. tells me he loves me by 2nd date), any kind of active addict, and a couch potatoe would all be deal breakers.

- Christian
- Non smoker
- No more than one ex wife
- Must be taller and/or larger than me
- No missing teeth
- Must not wear more jewelry than me
- Must own a car, not live with his family and have a job.

Well, I'm 5'5". I prefer guys to be within the 5'7" to 6'3" height range. Taller than 6'3" makes it awkward for random cute kisses, and shorter than 5'7" makes me feel like a giantess.

That being said, height's not really a deal breaker.

Being able to count his ribs through his skin or being able to fit three of me into his pants is most definitely a deal breaker.

Also, being an arrogant jerk. I can't stand that. I'm obviously smarter. They just need to realize this :laugh:

smoker. don't mind being around smokers but can't be with someone who is one.
drug user. hard core like needles and crack.

Any drug or tobacco user. I had to say tobacco in general because of the guys who chew. Yuck!! That also kind of goes with bad teeth.

no smoking, drug use or excessive alcohol use
good teeth and gums = nice breath
good grooming - no random ear and nose hairs, facial hair trimmed, ears clean
must have a job or actively and honestly seeking one
must be financially secure and live within their means
living a healthy lifestyle
must not be arrogant or have a negative outlook on life

Am I unreasonable? In August 2011, I decided to take a year off from dating. I want to pull myself together and be the best I can be before dating again.
