IT'S PREP TIME!!!

It's best to use this last week prior to the cleanse as our wean week. As Kriss Karr states, "you're still a new colt learning to balance. No need to hit the racetrack day one." Though this is technically supposed to be a simpler way of life, we want to test it out and try to get the hang of it before we go charging into it on March 1st. So let's do what we can to set up success by setting up a supportive environment.

Let's get our cabinets, crisper, and appliances ready. Let's line up our supplements, get the sneakers ready, and a brand new spanking journal if you want to also document the emotional.

During this week:

o COFFEE - Slowly remove coffee if you haven't done so. Cut back to one cup per day. If you're a Joe addict and need to do this more gently, replace your Joe with a cup of green tea or yerba mate. They both have a relatively small amount of caffeine that will help with the transition. Or throw some cacao (raw chocolate into your smoothies); it's a caffeine alternative that smacks a powerful flavor punch. And if all fails and giving up the Joe is just not gonna happen, then choose organic coffees and mix with half-decaf. Be careful though. Even some decaf coffees use toxic chemicals to strip the caffeine. So please always choose the organic versions.
o ALCOHOL - Cut back to no more than two alcoholic drinks per week and choose organic red wine (with no added sulfites)
o WATER - Hydration creates happy cells. Make sure you're drinking enough purified water (not bottled spring water). So get the Brita pitcher read if you don't have a purifier attached to your faucet. Stuff's gonna start to rumble - so we have to flush it out.
o MEAT - Reduce meat consumption to no more than 3 to 4 ounces as the day nears. So you wanna eat what you have now so it's not around to tempt.
o DAIRY/GLUTEN - Phase out dairy and gluten. Include no more than two or three servings of each over the course of the week.
o SUGARS/CARBS - Completely cut out processed sugar and refined carbs.
o VEGGIES - Double your intake of greens this week and dip your toe into the juicy world of juicing. (I'll post some recipes soon!)

In upcoming posts, I'll share more on the appliances, suggested supplements, some of the emotional practices, and more on the gluten/dairy free, etc.
