One of the key components of the Crazy Sexy Diet (CSD) is to expunge the toxins from our bodies. A lot of the toxins we intake come from the foods we eat, either in the form of additives and preservatives from processed foods or from the chemicals and pesticides used during the farming process of fresh foods.

When buying fresh, there are some produce for which buying organic isn't really necessary because the fruit/veggie itself is protected by nature's homemade protective shell or the farming process just doesn't require that much extra in terms of chemicals to protect the crop. However, there are others for which buying organic would be key. And if you can't, then you definitely would want to discard the outer layer before eating.
