Do you run?

Hey yall,
So I'v been struggling with weight loss lately and I hate to say this (because it goes against everything I've read and heard) but whenever I've been my thinnest, I was always running 3-5miles 3 times/week. I haven't been running regularly since last spring and I kept fit in the summer, enter fall/winter and I'm up 15-20pounds (I acquired a sedentary desk job, but also a puppy which I thought could counteract my sitting all day).
I have been doing Jillian Micheals videos 5-6x/wk (Don't make fun, the moves are actually pretty basic bodyweight moves, she just motivates me at 7am) and walking the dog once or twice/day for about 20mins. But I'm seriously considering adding running to my routine again maybe 2 days mostly interval sprints for about 20mins and another day 3k as fast as possible..
Thanks for your responses!

I say go for it. What I think you want to avoid, is the LONG cardio session where your heartrate is at 70% or more for over 20 minutes. If you are doing intervals, I bet you will see results!
I don't do much other than twice a week met-cons and some walking. I have a pattern of becoming OCD with working out, then flaming out big time from over doing it. Because of that, I don't run. Well, that, and the fact I don't like it much. It was pretty freeing to learn that I didn't need to be a runner to be fit. I love me some sprints though!0 -
I'd definitely agree about doing intervals/sprints rather than long sessions of jogging. I used to do 100m/100m hurdles in school and loved it, but jogging bores me to tears, and aggravates my hypermobile joints.
However, if you truly enjoy it, do it. Exercise that you love to do is the best kind.0
