Today's frustration is my mother butting her nose in where it doesn't belong.
We had asked our priest if he minded sponsoring my son for his summer camp again this summer like he has done in previous years. (My son attends nearly every week, is an alter server, children's ministry helper, liturgy minister and helps out at church functions).
My mother got wind of this and threw a major meltown at me this morning on the phone when she found out and had a talking to the priest ... I felt so bad this morning that I called the priest and apologized profusely to him for her actions and thanked him for the offer and declined it. Never been so embarassed as I am right now..
She has issues with me asking for handouts when I have family that she "says" will help out but when push comes to shove, not so much..
I'm a single parent on a limited butdget so when someone is willing to sponser him so he can actually have fun for a change, I'm not going to pass it up..0 -
When your X tells your son he cost her money every time he is over. You don't see him but a few days every other week. I'm like the boy doesn't hardly eat much, you don't don't buy him clothes, shoes, toys. You don't take him to the doctor or pay his insurance. You don't pay for anything, so if he asks for something and it was probably small then get it. Hell, you got new boobs, car and you give 100's a week to your snake worshipping church and you complain about a 12 year old. Sorry for ranting or venting. Just pissed off right now.0

Best thing you can do is to be a good role model for your daughter and teach her how to grow into a strong, productive woman. I tell my daughter that no one ever taught her father how to be a father and that he has mental health issues (in my opinion you have to be mentally ill to abandon your child). I also tell her that it is NOT her fault that he chose not to be a parent to her and that she is a wonderful person.
You will do just fine Jay Tee, love your child and it will all fall into place. Sometimes blessings come in disguise.0
