Insidious was good, if you like that paranormal type of horror.

I have some slight issues with Insidious though, things that when done without, would have left me completely creeped out. The movie sure did have its moments where they haunted you when the movie was done (like when the medium draws out the demon in the corner of the ceiling, or that snapping noise that is made when it moves) but other things would take away from those haunting scenes.
The part where the wife jumps as the Tiny Tim album begins playing (and the fact that the demon enjoys Tiny Tim's rediculously high voice) just reminded me of the first episode of Spongebob Squarepants where that same exact song was played. Or while the shadow world was very creepy, the family getting killed in the living room by seemingly statue people felt off and out of place. No mention (that I could recall) was made about a family getting killed in the house, and so the fact that their souls were still repeating this death scene didnt make much sense to me. Especially since it was just a simple creepy factor add on.
All in all, I think Insidious gets high marks on their score for certain scenes, but their other scenes are too silly or dont make much sense to keep me coming back to it. 'he Sixth Sense had a much bigger impact in my opinion because while the scares were just as good as Insidious', there werent any silly scenes in between.
And if you want to get into really cool twist endings, I remember 'The Others' creeping me out big time.
As far as 'worst' goes, I think most additions and sequals to movies generally suck. -MOST- not all. I dont remember liking the 3rd Poltergiest or 4th Halloween (or 2nd Halloween either) Best new horror movie in the last few years? Maybe Paranormal Activity series? I do like first person movies, but maybe the only reason why I like it so much is because the story is so new and fresh with an interesting way to tell it. And every movie that comes out, the story just gets deeper. Fright Night was cool, but that was a remake.0
