Can you imagine having Hashi and getting candidas? Yikes! I also heard that if you eat Gluten one time - say 1 piece of bread -- that it can take 4 months to get out of your system if you are Gluten sensitive. This is really serious for anyone with Hypo, but especially so if you have Hashi.
And Oats are not really gluten -- however -- they are frequently grown/harvested/stored in close proximity to wheat and are therefore considered wheat-gluten contaminated. Wheat, barley, rye, all have gluten.
Rice is ok...
