I'm running the following 5k in April:

Also, I wanted to share a cool link a fitness pal shared with me, and what she said:
"Do this 5k, it's got zombies and an obstacle course: http://runforyourlives.com"

I have never wanted to run in anything! I saw this earlier this morning and lo and behold, on my way to the gym, I see a banner for a "Couch to 5K" run coming up in the near future. So after these 2 "signs" maybe I should give it a try! I'll walk what I can't run!!
So I'm in! My 5k is in May and its a twilight walk!!0 -
Yayyyy!!!
I'm happy you are doing it too!!0 -
It turns out I have Jury duty the week of the race I originally anticipated doing in April so now I have to cancel that =(
I've been looking into this one race though:

It's part of Milwaukee's Summerfest events and it looks like a blast. They block off the Daniel Hoan Memorial Bridge so you can run on it, imagine that!! I will keep you guys posted on when/if I sign up for that. Also, I plan to start in a couple of days so if anyone will be starting anytime soon, let me know and we can motivate each other0 -

I am hoping to run a 5k that's on a forest track. It's in New Zealand (where I'm from), in Levin I've never run a full 5km, but I hopefully will soon!0

I just registered for my first 5k, April 21st, and I can't wait. What is a good time for a first time 39yr old runner?0

Yay for your first 5K! Try not to be too concerned with whether your time is "good" or not when compared to other racers. They are all pursuing their own goals. Take a few test runs where you really push yourself, see what you come up with, and then subtract a minute from the lowest result. That will give you something to work towards!
Good luck! :flowerforyou:0 -

I"m doing Race for the Cure on October 6th in Albany NY. It will be my first 5K. However, my sister in law is trying to persuade me to do my first 5K in June in the Freihoffer Run for women. Eek! I may sign up for it just to see how it goes.0 -
I popped my 5k cherry over the weekend. I came in 81st with a time of 37.33.0
