Hello my running pals, it is now Week 6.

Successful running requires a good training program. We have successfully completed 5 weeks of training. I am so proud of us all. I can remember week 1 when we would walk a few minutes, run one minute, and then walk again. Each week we walked less and ran more until now we find ourselves running for 20 minutes and more for some. We have overcome mental hurdles which are so often more overwhelming than physical ones. We still have a lot of hard work to accomplish. We can do it. We will do it. Remember, we got this!

W6D1 - I completed the first walk/run on Monday. I ran at 3.5 mph and did the walking at 3.0 mph. I felt good after the workout. I completed 1.6 miles in 30 minutes. I am not experiencing any discomfort...,, no knee pain and I feel good about this.

I am doing the 15 miles challenge (walk/run) again this week..,so I have many miles ahead of me.

Have u all found races to sign up for?

    Hi:smile:

Where are my running pals? I hope everyone is well and no injuries.

I just finished run 2 for week 6. I had a good run. I ran/walked 1.81 miles in 33 minutes. I ran at 3.5 mph and walked at
3.0 mph. I am seeing an improvement in my endurance and look forward to my next run.

    Happy Miles.
  • I remember that at the beginning of this year jogging half a kilometre left me breathless. At the beginning of this week I was able to run 4 miles (with a break between each mile) and run each mile in less than 10 minutes. All I know is that squatting has really improved my running and I'm super excited to see myself progress.

This is impressive. I have not tried squatting because I have pretty strong legs but it is surely worth tryiing. How many pounds?

What happened??? Did you give yourself a break from C2K?

I am checking with my doc on Tuesday about the squats -remember I had a knee injury as well.

I just finished Week 6 -Day 3 I completed the 27 minutes and ran 1.55 miles at 3.5 mph. I had trouble concentrating during this run and don't really know why.

For the week I did accomplish my 15 miles challenge -walk/run.

Looking forward to the upcoming week.

I understand. However, the most important thing is that you are exercising. I am preparing for upcoming 5Ks and 10Ks this Spring/Summer so I need to keep training do I will be ready.

    Thanks Taylor
i too factored in that my other workouts would come in handy so

so today skipped 2 days of week 6 and completed day 3 today

the recommendation was to run for 22 mins but it also said run for 2.25 miles, so i wanted to do that

    at 1% incline

    warmup - 5 mins - 3.5mph - .30 miles
    jog - 28 mins - 5mph - 2.25 miles
    cool down - 3 mins - ..

    calories burnt 500 :)

    i feel good!!!
    i am calling week 6 done :D

I've been squatting 80lbs with the barbell at my gym. I keep on adding to the weight every workout though.
