This thread serves as a place to discuss speculation, and then reaction to the 03/04/12 episode.

Norman Reedus is so beyond hot in this scene I can't handle it!!! I'm glad to see Daryl getting more screen time too.

There is something mentioned in this scene that there was 30 in the group that Randall was with.

    Thoughts from this ep:

Randall is pointless. Any of the 30 guys from the other group can go back to the bar and find those two guys dead and come looking for the farm. Just because Randall knew Maggie in school doesn't mean he knew where she lived. I think it's ok to let him go... he doesn't even seem to know where "his" group was located.

REALLY thought Shane sent Carl into the shed to kill Randall while he distracted Andrea.

It's Rick's first time as executioner yet he knows how to tie a noose?

The whole episode I was thinking to myself, "Can they just kill Dale instead of Randall?" Haha thank goodness I don't have to look at his gross nostrils and bushy half eyebrows anymore!

Laurie was going on and on last week about women needing to be doing womanly duties... how about adding WATCH YOUR EFFING KID to that list?!

Zombie cow or was it just in the process of dying?

Kill Randall already. Rick is so useless. He never makes the right decisions. Somehow him not killing Randall is going to come back to hurt the group. So glad Dale is gone. All he did was complain about Shane.

So glad I didn't read this before I saw the episode. I just watched it online and it literally just ended 2 minutes ago.

Honestly the way Dale died was tragic, but I am glad it was him and not Shane. He tried holding on to a life that no longer exists and that is the #1 way to get killed off any zombie movie/show.

Also, Carl is starting to get highly annoying. Maybe he's adapting to the new world the wrong way or he's just slowly losing his mind.

Or how about Dale's mouth that doesn't seem to know what "closed" is? Lol. And yeah Laurie can't even watch her own son and then looks stupid when he comes back out of nowhere when there's trouble.

The cow was just dying, I don't think the virus (or whatever) effects animals.

I agree with you in everything lmao I liked dale but i understand Dale had to be killed cause of how he is stuck in the old type of world. I do think Randell needs to be killed cause he prob will be a prob in the future and now that the stupid kid left the gun out there if he gets out he could find the gun or someone else.

I agree with you it was sad and Carl is pissing me off lmao

I just cant understand why the kid is never watched i have kids and neither would be away from my side!!!!! I always liked Dale so it was sad but i understand why they killed him off.

Ha! I don't think I agree with almost anything any one of you has said, but I still enjoy reading this! I take it back, I do agree that Carl shouldn't be wandering around like that. I blame Lori. I think the last couple of episodes she's coming out of "emergency survival mode" too early and getting a little too comfortable. Dale's death was a major shocker, for once I was glad that I didn't spoil it for myself. It's funny some of you talk like Dale "had to go," but a freaking zombie killed him, not anyone in the group because of his morality.

Honestly, if I was there, I would be on the fence with what to do with Randall. To all of those who say the world has changed and the rules are different now, good luck defining what all those rules are supposed to be. As Dale pointed out, even Rick changed his mind about killing the living. The whole point that they conveyed successfully is that it's not supposed to be easy.

With the strongest moral voice now gone, it will be interesting to see who picks up his mantle. There were those who were quiet (Hershel and Carol), those against it (Maggie) and those who changed thier minds (Andrea and Rick more or less). Now we have to see what they all do in the wake of Dale being gone.

Randall: I see it as this He is still from the group that rapped and KILLED, tried to kill the Rick, and them cuz they wouldn't give up their location....If he really wanted to NOT be a part of them,,,,,he would not have been shooting at them witht he rest of them, he would have been trying to get away.......I dont believe his story about the camp they came across either...... I remember when the group walked up onto that camp ground withthe dead man in it.....That could have been the father and the girls were gona...taken i assume. If they continue to keep him prisoner then he is gong to try to get away, and find his group, who will in turn try to locate where he has been for the past ????? month??? He needs to be killed.

Dale: Poor Dale......I understood his arguement...but like they said its diffrent, cant go by the rules of a civilized world. That world is gone. But to die like that...MY GOODNESS terrible...Nice and scary looking walker tho!!!

Rick: I used to have his back..but he is weak...I am starting to understand Shane now...

Carl: bad *kitten* kid, he is snapping and no one seems to notice....except maybe Shane...His mother is too busy cooking and cleaning and being up Ricks butt to notice that he was missing for most of the ep. And she NEVER asked where he was..its not like he can say he was off playing with other kids!!!
and YES CARL DALE DYING IS YOUR FAULT!!!

Darryl: WOO HOO just so fine, love that man.....I find NO fault in him at all no matter LMAO

T-Dog....poor baby finally got a sec or two...T-Dog shot gun now...lol

Hope i didnt just ramble...But this is only way i can get it off my chest...

I wanted to beat the snot out of Carl. More than once. Is he stupid? WHO THE HELL goes off alone in this kind of world??? Lori went off on her own in the car and almost died. Carl almost got bit. And Dale went off alone, as well, and died. It was gruesome, too...loved it. I've been missing some gore from this show.

Randall scared me though, the way he lunged at Carl. I do not think keeping this man alive is a smart idea. But no one else really knows that. Just Carl. It made me sick him telling the story of the father and two daughters. Sick. I don't care that he may have not "participated" (if he was even telling the truth). He saw it and stayed with these evil people, who are, in a way, scarier to me than zombies, being a woman myself.

I am liking Hershel more and more. And Andrea? I liked her comment about how the pain never goes away, you just make room for it. And she's tough. She was stupid for a while but seems to have learned from her mistakes.

The whole episode I was telling my husband, "who is watching that effing kid!?!?!?" The world has gone to the zombies and this kid is out exploring and playing with a gun. Him losing that gun is going to come back and bite Daryl in the @ss. I just know it.

They should have killed Randall from the begining... PERIOD. And is anyone else thinking that maybe the family with the 2 girls was the mexican familly in the begining of season 1 that went off on their own?

Poor Dale, but he served no purpose but to complain. When he was screaming about finding another solution to the Randall situation he not once said.. HEY! I'll volunteer to go drop this kid off somewhere 18+ miles out!

I wonder if Daryl was going to kill Randall right before Dale started screaming? did any of you catch that? And he left the door open so the kid is probably going to escape.

I don't want to give anything away on the next episode, but I saw the NEXT TIME ON THE WALKING DEAD preview and things get a little rough. I'm kinda hoping the 30-man group comes to the farm. At least we can all yell at Rick with a big I TOLD YOU SO!

Then there's Carl who i was so hoping would've got bitten by that walker, or at least slapped in the face by Carol. I would've beat that kid then told his mother is did it and why. I agree Lori is too busy being a farmhand's wife to pay attention to her own son who is turning into a little monster. That hat doesn't make him look any smarter either.

Oh and I know Randell did something to those girls. The way he said "real young, and real cute too". There was that pedophile pause that was just creepy. Daryl should have slit his throat right then and there and said he slipped or something

I am so glad I was not the only one thinking.... You are living in a ZOmbie infested world.. yet you let your kids run around without supervision?! That boy needs parents in a bad way!

Also when Dale started his crusaide to save Randall I was telling my husband, Oh I wish he would die already! I was satisfied in the end when he died, However I blame his death on the parenting skills of Rick and Lori. If Carl hadn't been out there taunting that walker, the walker would have been stuck and eventually died. That walker seemed particularly pissed off.

****in' Carl!!! I liked Dale. I mean, yeah he had it coming at some point. He was too humane for this world. Carl is thinking he's hot ****, but I bet he soon gets devoured by a zombie at some point because of lack of supervision. Now he thinks he's a badass wearing his hat and all black clothes. Meanwhile, the second that zombie's foot came loose he nearly shat himself.

They need to kill that hostage too. It's obvious he's going to rat on them the first chance he gets if he escapes and re-joins with his group. Carl messed that execution up too!

I'm glad Dale got axed. He was becoming too whiney.
I agreed with him to a point but he couldn't wrap his head around the fact that this is a whole new world where the laws of old don't apply. Essentially it is survival of the fittest.

Keeping Randall alive is going to come back to bite them in the *kitten*. I bet the story he told to Daryl in the barn was true to a degree but I can bet that he was in on the raping and that will probably come out in a future episode.

Now we just need Lori to die...

I don't want Lori to die. I want her to become zombified right before the baby is born and then they have to try to deliver the baby while she is trying to eat their faces.

Carl is what, 12-13? I think he's old enough (in theory) to not have to be babysat all the time. In reality obviously someone needs to be watching him, but I have to disagree with the majority here that it's bad parenting b/c he wanders off. At that age he shouldn't need to be watched all the time. But since I am in the "I hate Lori" camp, I'll not knock anyone who blames her.

I loved Shane in this ep. And I did not shed one tear for Dale. His character may have served a purpose, but mostly he annoyed me. Him and his ugly @ss hat.

I'm starting to like me some Herschel. I like the development of his character and how he is evolving. That was Dale's problem, he didn't want to evolve with this new world.

    We need more Daryl.

During the long living room scene, all i could think of was please let Dale die and that the actor was very good, but more importantly he had to go! Zombies are otherwise, didn't care how. Then seeing the struggle I was starting to think he was going to live, which made me excited about the scene, and then BAM: you knew it was coming but damn didn't expect him to go out like that. I suppose the zombies didnt care enough for him to want to change him.

On another topic, that kid is creepy. His latest scenes were like watching Omen w/ zombies. The next episode I swear that kid is going to be skinning a cat or something. And what a little d bag for not telling them about the walker. What is wrong with that kid, people are dying around him but he is worried about getting a stern talking to by his father(not even stern, it's Rick after all).

And the talk Hershel had with Glenn, very classy.
