I'm new to the site and wondering....did/is anyone else having trouble with nausea? It doesn't seem to matter what I eat or drink (I'm on the mushies now) - just end up feeling sick. Even water makes my tummy cramp. I'm two weeks post bypass surgery (Feb 22/12).

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I too am 2 weeks post op 2/20, and I have had no nausea. Sorry I have not advice, except go slowly. Try new foods one at a time. Eat VERY SLOWLY and contact you surgeon if your symptoms don't improve.

I'm 6 weeks out of RNY. The ONLY time I felt sick to my stomach was when I ate the chicken out of chicken noodle soup too fast. I did throw up a little of it, not very much. It relieved a lot of that nausea. What I experienced was cramping. I knew there was virtually nothing in my belly, but I was not happy with the waves of a crampy pain. Don't know what made me think of it, but I opened some plain fat free yogurt and swallowed 2 tablespoons. Within 10 min, my pain was gone. Since my MD wants all patients to take an acid reducer pill for 3 months, I decided to take it 2xdaily. That has helped immensely. I've had that pain a couple of times but not as bad and it goes away with yogurt. So I'm happy about that.

I'm not getting cramps at all until I eat something. I even get the cramps from sipping water. I'm not used to all the sugar substitutes, maybe that's it. I never ate foods with aspertame or other sugar subs before. But that doesn't explain the water....
