Hi everyone. I'm new here and would like to count my nutrients properly. How have you guys done it. Since we've all had weight loss surgery, I thought I'd ask.

Replies

  • I have changed my macro settings so that I get 25% of my calories from protein (for my calorie allotment, that's about 90-95g/day), 30% from fat and 45% from carbohydrates.

I try to eat only whole grains, fruits and veggies for my carbs and to stay away from anything white: bread, rice, pasta.

Feel free to add me as a friend if you want!

I do something similar but the percentages and absolute grams work out differently since I'm on maintenance and eating more. So I try to get 120 g of protein a day, limit carbs to around 100 g and don't care about my fats. (They take care of themselves if I keep my calories in check and make my protein and carb goals.)

I had Bypass on March 7, 2012. I started to use the food tracker this week. It has been working well. I changed my settings to track for grams of protein and grams of sugar since I am still in the mushy food stage. It has been working very well I am happy to say.
