Hello all-

Are you doing it?

Did you find an online schedule/app for lifting three days per week?

If anything, what are you doing additional?

Thnanks!

I use the JEFIT app. I have been lifting a while so when I got the book, I could see how this is great for those starting out, but I needed way more...so I do a lot of the lifts suggested, but break mine up where I lift 3 days mon legs/shoulders thurs chest/tris and sat back bis...I do anywhere from 9-11 movements for the body parts on that day. I do time rest through the app and go up 5 pounds as the book suggests.
  • I found the blank training logs online. I was just hoping that some super nice person out there had perhaps posted the entire schedule online. :)

If you go to jpfitness.com, there is a forum for new rules for women. someone has posted a nice breakdown of the schedule...because it IS confusing at first. If I can find it, I'll try and post the direct link...hang tight...

There's a New Rules of Lifting group (I think NROL4W is the name) I was browsing earlier as I also just got the book. I think I saw some people had posted links to sheets although I didn't pull any of them up to see what they had included, you may want to check that out.

I went there and sadly my searching skills are horrible today. Any assistance you can provide would be great! I'd like to write things down vs using my phone. I use my phone to listen to music! :)

You can use the phone app too and build the routine into the app...it logs everything and your rest breaks. You can even add to the routine if you would like...it is in the droid or iphone market place...nice and free

And I apologize, I did not read your post as clearly as I should. I thought you were just looking for a schedule!

Yep, I'm doing it. I just started, but started at the end of Stage 1 (although I could have moved farther ahead and I am impatient, I'm a little quirky about doing things in order) but I am tweeking it by doing some more advanced alternatives to some of the exercises. I go by the 3 x weekly lift schedule and I add in a day of cardio kickboxing. I've also incorporated the intervals although they don't start until Stage 2.

All that being said, So far, I'm liking it!

Oh yea, I also use the JEFIT app that Lucia mentioned. I love, love, love it. It is so convenient to have all of my routines right there on hand while at the gym. :)

I am on week 1 of NROFW. Honestly I haven't thought it was challenging enough, but I realize it will get harder and I have to start somewhere. :)

I took the schedule, log, warmups, etc in the book and made an Excel spreadsheet out of it to use. Mine is also on my Kindle Fire so I added the location of exercises because page numbers don't work. I have JEFIT but haven't built the exercises in yet.

Like I said I am really liking it, but don't feel it is challenging enough just yet. Maybe I should add some to it like the previous poster.

I started a couple of weeks ago (and have since injured my hand so have had to take a break). I like it so far, but Stage 1 isn't particularly difficult - in particular, I feel the core exercises are lacking (I think my core strength improved much more with Jillian Michaels videos). With that being said, it is important to make sure the form is correct so I do have every intention of finishing stage one. Also, the routine is as challenging as you make it and I find that I push myself to the point where I am always sore the next day. I am really bummed that I had to stop because I was already noticing I was lifting more than I ever would have expected. I think its a good program for getting started and I love that it only takes about 30 minutes plus a warm up and stretch. I'll actually be training for a triathlon in about 5 weeks so will end up taking another break but once the tri is over, I have every intention of making it through New Rules.

Did you program NROL into JEFIT? I've thought about it - but honestly looks like a lot of work because it changes up so often. If you have it can you upload it to the JEFIT site to share?
I'm starting it again (been through twice already!). I've really gotten used to using my phone to track on JEFIT, I'd hate to go back to my paper tracking if I don't have to.
    Thanks!
