DAY 7 CHALLENGE & AFFIRMATION

It's here! The day we've been waiting for in anticipation - either because we fear it or we're excited. Think I fall somewhere in between. lol.
IT'S FASTING DAY!!!
Today is about pressing the fast forward button on your cleanse. You may choose to fast for part of the day today or for all of it. Do what feels right for you and listen to your body. Whatever you decide, keep hydrated and juicy.
FOCUS
Let's zero in on us. So besides tuning your channel to your body's needs and reactions today as you fast, our challenge is to tune everything else out - or at least turn down the volume.
Yesterday we focused on cleansed emotions; today we're going to challenge ourselves to a techno detox. I know. I know. You had to reread that, right? "Did she really just write what I just read?" you're thinking. LOL. Yes my love. I did dare to say a techno detox. I'm not saying go cold turkey. Just suggesting that you don't let the outside world drain much of you today and instead you keep your focus on the healing of your body. Also, you may find that when we realize we're spending more time Googling fun stuff than actually doing it, it's time to replace online lollygagging with real-world alternatives. Too much time sitting and surfing creates back problems, dry eyes, carpal tunnel, sleep issues, and even migraines. Not the things we want our body to be experiencing when we're coaxing it to self-heal.
What does a techno detox look like? It's about changing our relationship to technology. Let's start by meditating on ways we can structure our techno time better. Consider these:
o pick up the phone old-school style, rather than shooting out endless texts.
o check your MFP inbox or your phone only at scheduled times.
o Limit online multi-tasking. We get less done than we think when we do this. Scientific fact... Our brain can only process one bit of info at a time.
o Cease and desist on the Facebook ex-friend snoop.
o Let it go to voicemail or set up an auto-responder on your inbox to give yourself a breather today.
Today IS all about YOU!
FOCUS
In this chaotic world, help me find peace, and remind me to limit the distractions that keep me from embracing my self-care. Impossible deadlines and stress create acidity in my body. The world won't blow up if I take a day off.
POSITIVE SELF-TALK
I am calm and light. I am peaceful and easygoing. I find beauty in simplicity.
GOD POD MAINTENANCE
Get your cute butt outside in nature. Hit the mountain trail or local park, climb a tree, follow a meandering stream, swing on the swing or monkey around on the monkey bars. It doesn't matter if it's only 10 degrees outside and we'd rather cuddle with our laptops. Let's not. Instead, wrap yourself up like a warm burrito and let the cold wind slap you silly. Follow with a hot shower and essential oils skin elixir. Mix 15 to 20 drops of your fave essential oil with a jojoba, avocado, coconut, or sweet almond "carrier" oil for a healthy all-over moisturizer.
TIP
Kill your television! And at night, opt for picking up a book over getting online.I betcha there's a great book on your shelf that would really love to be held. I'm looking forward to reading a new cookbook that arrived in the mail today; it's called Living Cuisine by Renee Loux Underkoffler - a book all about making super yummy stuff without killing all the good for me nutrition.
{thanks JJ, aka solarpower4, for the tip!}
On fasting... If you're juicing just in the AM, then be sure to enter the afternoon with a fresh salad. Ease yourself into it slowly. If you're fasting all day, then ready yourself for the sea salt flush in the morning.
AM fasters - drink a cup of your smooth move or other senna-based tea. Do this on an empty belly and make it the last thing you eat or drink right before you go to bed.
All day fasters - do the same as the AM folks. Then in the morning, first thing, warm a quart of purified water in the microwave till slightly warm. Stir in 1 tbl of sea salt and drink. It's not going to be easy. I know. Do your best. You can chug it or drink it with a straw. I like the latter because it helps the salt bypass my tastebuds. I would suggest you take no longer than 15 min to get thru this step. The longer it takes to get the quart down, the more the effect is minimized and the longer your bathroom trips will be.
Stay near a bathroom. When mother nature comes a-calling, you want to be sure you're ready to answer. You may find that it will take more than one trip. It may not feel like it at first, but trust me. You'll want to stay near a bathroom.
One fun thing I like to do... I weigh myself before I drink the quart. And then I weigh myself after. I'm always surprised at the number, which represents how much collected crap I've expelled from my intestine. It let's me know that I'm on the right track with everything I'm doing.
PHYSICAL CHALLENGE
Be nice to yourself and your body. Today is about doing a major sweep of your house and giving it a rest.
Good luck my dear friends! I'm with you every step of the way. xxxooo
