DAY 8 CHALLENGE & AFFIRMATION

You did it!! Week 1 is under your belt and no matter how it went, the hardest part is behind you. There will be more icy patches ahead (detox symptoms can pop up at any time), but you've taken some heroic steps. I wish you could see me giving you a standing ovation.

FOCUS
Everything you need to learn in life, you can learn from a chair. The diet is the seat (the largest area of focus); the mind, body, spirit, and daily practice are the four legs. When any one is off, we topple. Which one is off for you? Pick one area of focus this week and crank it up!

POSITIVE SELF TALK
My body is a blessing. I am so grateful to live in this beautiful temple. Please show me corners I didn't know existed. Please help me tend to those corners.

AFFIRMATION
I am graceful. I am fierce. I am gentle. I am a powerhouse. I am silly. I am serious. I love all my opposites and I am balancing them with ease.

GOD POD MAINTENANCE
Pump iron! Every pound of muscle in your body burns about 35 to 50 calories a day, while a pound of fat burns only around 2 calories. Strength training literally keeps your metabolism firing. Experts suggest thirty minutes of strength work two to three times a week. Exercise bands are another way to build strength. The bands are pretty and portable. Shove them in your purse and hit the park! Because you fasted yesterday, you may want to start your day with the sea salt flush followed by some probiotics. Fasting rustles up the gunk. Help move it out!

TIP
Have compassion. Sometimes its hard to show yourself compassion. If that's the case, do it for the animals, the planet, the big picture. One way to do that is through your food choices. Some say the vegan lifestyle is protesting with your fork, spending one's dollars where they matter. Or better yet, do it for your children. Let the legacy of deprivation end with you.

PHYSICAL CHALLENGE
Spend 30 minutes today tacking resistance training. You can use weights, bands, or your own body resistance. Whatever you have, whatever it takes, go build some awesome muscle to match your awesome tude!

Lastly, don't forget to weigh yourself and/or measure today to log into the chart. This is best done after you've finished the flush process.
